Perhaps it's a little unfair, but my all time new favorite pair of tights are the 2XU mid-rise compression, which are very much like this pair, but have a cell phone pocket in the back, and I like the silver leg logo better than this black one. So this pair is not as great for me, without the pocket---but I still really like them. Like other well made tights, these don't show obvious sweat spots when you wear them. Good fit and comfort.
It is so nice to finally have a pair of true compression pants, I’ve got a couple of pair from other brands and I found that they never really compressed anything. The high rise on me almost comes up to the base of my bra band so for people who are short waisted, these will come up very high on you. I found that The fabric is definitely more lightweight than I’m used to but not so thin that it won’t pass the squat test. The black on black is really sleek and I love it much more than a different contrasting color. But I don’t like the material the black strip is made of, its like a thin rubber that doesn’t feel comfortable when touched or rubbed up against.
Normally I wear a size small in workout leggings but went up a size here due to the compression and I am glad I did. I think a small would have been too tight for comfort, a medium provided more than enough compression for me to get through my workout and feel good. Length wise, its perfect for me. I am 5’4” with really small ankles so most leggings are too long, they bunch up and are not snug against my leg. I end up having the roll the bottom of the legging up which can be annoying. But these stop right at my ankle and are form-fitting (ie tight) which I love.
These are serious compression pants. I even sized up, and unfortunately couldn't even get them to stay on, because they wanted to roll down off of my waist immediately. They were hard to get on, and then the fact that they wouldn't stay on without rolling was really unfortunate.
I think if you have a very super slender body and need serious athletic compression, this might work for you. If you are a curvier girl, maybe check out a different line.
