These are the wide waistband version as pictured, despite what the questions/answers say above. No drawstring to pull in the gaping waist. The fabric is see-through and the compression is not noticeable. Save your money for a better compression product like cwx. I ordered both medium and small, I'm 5'1 125lb's and could've went either way with small vs medium, however medium was also see-through & major gaps in back of waistband so both went back.
2XU makes great running gear. I have several pieces of their gear in my running bag currently. I personally love their compression tights. These are a newer version of the classics that I ran a full marathon in and I really wish I had these then! The compression is more than their classic tights but more specialized instead of the entire length of the tights. These target you major muscle groups and stabilize the knee. I do not feel as tired when I wear these over other tights or running pants. I feel like I can push myself harder when I am wearing these.
They breathe nicely and don't keep the sweat up against you. They are not really cold either, so I do wear these on colder days but maybe not in the winter. I haven't had them during winter yet so I can't tell you about that until later. They are easy to roll on and off even when you are completely exhausted. They stay in place and don't start folding down my waist like other brands. I am not heavy, but some tights and pants roll over the waist while running and it drives me crazy.
I wash these in a gentle cycle with low dry with the rest of my running gear and they come out fine. The also roll up very small so you can travel with them too. They are thick enough to wear outside without worrying about showing strangers too much of yourself. I do tend to wear longer shirts with them, but I am confident with these.
I would change nothing, I am super happy with these and am looking forward to taking these to my next race and see how they do!
When I first started putting these leggings on, my first thought was if I can even get these on I will never be able to get back out of them. They are bit of a chore to shimmy into but once you have them on they are surprisingly comfortable. They have worked really well for running. They provide support in all the right places. I have the size small and I feel like they fit me well. (I'm 5'6" 122lbs) The mid-rise waist band sits just high enough to be flattering and comfortable. My only complaint is i feel like I need a bit of a longer shirt with these, they are a little see through.
These compression pants are my favorite!! They seriously feel like an extra layer of skin. They fit beautifully and are super breathable. They don’t allow for any show through when bending over or stretching, and they hug your body just right without feeling like they’re cutting off circulation to your limbs. They can be a bit difficult to put on due to the MCS mapping inside of the leggings, so I would suggest putting them on without wearing socks or anything on your foot. It causes the MCS to get caught on the socks and made it really hard to put on. Once you get them on though, they’re gold! I highly recommend to any and everyone!
For sizing reference, I’m 5’6”, 132lbs, thin athletic build, 27” waist , and I got a small.
