I love cycling but it’s a horrifically expensive hobby and not all of us are rich haha. I have a pair of pearl izumi padded capris that I got on clearance but ready needed an extra pair. Unwilling to pay $80 plus for a new pair, I tried these. To be honest I didn’t bother looking at the measurements and just winged it. I am about 160 lbs and 5’6” with big hips and a very small waist so it’s relatively hard to find clothes that actually fit. I bought these in a large and they are definitely a tighter on my belly/hips but they are supposed to be pretty tight as you want them as a second skin. I could have sized up but because it’s bike season I know I always drop a bit of weight so I didn’t want them to be too loose by June. I’ve worn them on a few trips now and I actually prefer the padding on these to my pearl izumi ones surprisingly enough. The fabric is a decent quality although I wouldn’t say it’s the best. Nothing has unraveled or broken but the fabric just feels a bit cheaper. They look great on and I love the grips on the legs so they don’t move. Overall I would say I think they are a great deal for the price but don’t expect the same quality as a $80 plus pair. I would definitely buy again as a back up pair for when my bf and I go bikepacking.
I love these cycling pants. I have a very expensive pair that I've been wearing for years, and now that my butt has aged, i.e. less muscle padding, I thought perhaps a new pair might provide better padding. Good decision on my part, I must say.
I was a little hesitant at first due to the low price, but these are even better than my $65 pair. When I removed the pants from the packaging, I was a little concerned, wondering if they were going to fit me. They looked really tiny. I am 5'6" tall, 136 lbs. and I normally wear a Medium, but I ordered a Large just in case.... Well, amazingly they fit very well. The material is similar to that of a swimsuit and they have a lot of stretch, so there was no need for my concern. I put them on and went for a test ride on my bike. Wow! They were comfortable and the padding felt so much denser than my original pants, which really prevented a "sore butt."
As far as sizing goes, a medium would probably have worked, but the large fits perfectly. I think this is because of the high elasticity and quality of the fabric. So when you order, you can't go wrong if you go for your regular size or size up. They'll work either way.
These bike pants are great to wear as it's getting colder here in Upstate NY. The padding is great-I didn't find them to be too bulky, though I don't know if I'd want to wear them into a restaurant after a ride. The waist band sits high which I prefer; I don't like feeling like my pants are falling down while I'm riding, especially when it's cold outside! I've washed them about 6 times and I hang them to dry. They seem to be holding up well and have not lost their shape or resiliency. I'm going to buy another pair since it's too cold for cycling shorts these days. Good choice! FYI-I wear size 8 or medium. I ordered size large and they fit great. Watch the sizing with the cycling apparel; the garments tend to run very small.
Very comfortable and the material is stretchy in a good way. I usually wear a size M or L, pant size 8 and I went with the Large. They are a little big in the leg area. I have a thicker build to me so I always go up one size so in this case I’m ok but if you’re very thin especially through your legs then I’d go down size. Wore them for the first 10 rides on my peloton and they helped out SO much. The seat are is padded perfect for cycling. Would buy again!
I ordered these cycling knickers looking for a good alternative to more expensive brands that still provides me with good quality. I will admit when I opened the package and felt the knickers, I wasn't sold and already thought about returning them. It seemed as if they were too thin/cheap. I decided to try them out on a 20+ mile plus ride in 60-70 degree weather and they were great. They were not as thin as I thought and provide enough breathability for warmer weather. On the back of the knickers there mesh panels near the knee areas for ventilation. I did not have an issue with the chammy. The chammy was the perfect thickness for me and didn't add unnecessary bulk and covered the right areas to protect my lady bits. The rise on these are a mid-rise which is what I prefer (I can't stand a low rise on bike apparel). These will serve me well during the summer since prefer not to wear shorts. I wish they were a little bit thicker but other than that, they were great.
I really like these cycling tights! While I try to ride my bike regularly in the summer, when it gets cold, there is no chance of that. When I'm riding in the summer, I typically wear bike shorts because of the warm weather, so I had not thought to purchase a pair of bike tights. I've been trying to take one spinning class per week, and had always worn regular leggings and just dealt with the discomfort. I got these to try to make my spin class more comfortable. After having used them for 2 classes, I've found my rides to be much easier with so much less discomfort! For anyone who is sitting in a bike or spin bike for an extended period of time, these are so much better than traditional leggings. Also, being on the shorter side (5'3"), these hit at a comfortable length. I'm normally a size Medium across all brands of leggings I've tried, and this was no different (true to size).
Personally I don’t know much about bikers accessories but my husband does who rides with a cycling club. I bought these primarily based upon reviews. However, they are too big and therefore don’t fit very well. A lot of slippage. This makes it uncomfortable for my riding with having to stop and adjust the padding. They look very nice and I won’t do a return because I waited too long to get these. This lets me know that you can’t always go by what you read. Lastly it does help at least by 50% if the padding stays in place.
Order your regular size. I went with recommendations to size up. That was a mistake. Too big and the padding is way too cumbersome for indoor spinning. I did return them, not because of the size, but they were delivered dirty. There were actual dirt marks on the leg. I believe someone wore and then returned these. The they were shipped to me. Otherwise I would have kept them even though they were a little big.
I have worn these on a 82 mile ride, a 45 mile ride and a 25 mile ride. I must say they did their best on the 25 mile ride! They are a great length (I'm 5'9 with a 34" inseam and they were mid-shin length). The padding is a tad thin but nothing I couldn't deal with (if you're used to riding, you should be fine). As others have mentioned, the padding sits back a little further so if you move forward, you may feel it. Basically, the price point on these pants are what drew me to them and I didn't expect Pearl Izumi padding or finish. They work! If you are using them for spin, you will be fine.
