The bookends I received were exactly as the photo represented, polished well and only needed a quick rub down with a rag to get rid of any debris from the packaging. I was scared that mine would come broken, but it looked well packaged as it was wrapped in bubble wrap. The only thing about the packaging is that both ends were placed together instead of separate, thankfully there was no damage.
I saw that some people said they had not received the rubber bumpers. I thought that maybe I had not received them either but then I dug around in the paper and shook them out. The rubber bumpers themselves are clear on a clear 1x1 square sheet, making them hard to see. So maybe others did get them but couldn't find them since you can't immediately see them and they are rather small. Maybe it would be better to put the bumpers in a little red envelope or something brightly colored to make them easier to spot.

I really like the color in these stones- and they arrived undamaged. My only reason for dropping a star is because one bookend had no dark teal middle like most of the pictures showed - just the light teal throughout the whole rock - the other bookend did have the dark teal middle so when they are on each end they don't appear to match. I am using them in separate areas of my bookcase so that it's not so noticeable, but it was a little disappointing to me.

Pretty, but...

These are really pretty, but a small chunk of the stone literally fell out of the polished middle after unboxing it, and now looks bad. I know it's natural and sometimes there's flaws in the stone, and that's ok. But this chunk fell out of the smooth surface and mars the beauty, rather than being part of the stone's natural beauty. Also, it's much smaller than I expected, so the pair can only hold up a few small books.

These are just as pretty as the picture. I wondered if I’d receive a weaker color with a claim that “each was unique”. Not the case! They’re just heavy enough. I wouldn’t use them for a ton of books, but say 7 hardbacks should be fine; ten may be pushing it if the books are large.

I guess I definitely expected these to be bigger. These might be great paperweights, or bookends for hardcover books of standard novel size, but they dont work for taller, paperback books. I bought these to hold my music on the top shelf of my desk, but they fall over so easily. I should have gotten a heavier set. Beautiful, though!

Outside of rocks have some sort of paint on them that is powdery somehow. Wondering why it wasn't left natural. Soaked them overnight then scrubbed with soap helped.
