The bookends I received were exactly as the photo represented, polished well and only needed a quick rub down with a rag to get rid of any debris from the packaging. I was scared that mine would come broken, but it looked well packaged as it was wrapped in bubble wrap. The only thing about the packaging is that both ends were placed together instead of separate, thankfully there was no damage.
I saw that some people said they had not received the rubber bumpers. I thought that maybe I had not received them either but then I dug around in the paper and shook them out. The rubber bumpers themselves are clear on a clear 1x1 square sheet, making them hard to see. So maybe others did get them but couldn't find them since you can't immediately see them and they are rather small. Maybe it would be better to put the bumpers in a little red envelope or something brightly colored to make them easier to spot.

I was really excited for these to come!! Then when the bookends came, I was thoroughly disappointed.

First and foremost, this item shouldn’t be offered on Prime as it appears the company cuts corners for shipping (I’m unaware if this occurs with normal delivery). My first indicator should have been the larger size hole for the box. The bookends were packed using newspaper, yes, I said newspaper. For an item of this nature, it should be wrapped in bubble wrap and peanuts and a larger box (the box for shipment was maybe 8” L x 6” W x 4” D).

Second, I begin to carefully unwrap the bookends from the newspaper. With the first bookend, chunks of rock and geode are hitting my table as a result of the disastrous shipping job. In opening the second bookend, I find the same result.

Last, unless I missed it in the description of said product, I expected these to come with “protection”. There’s no felt/protective material on the bottom of the bookends. If you were hoping to just slide the product, you’ll end up scraping your precious bookcase/bookshelf.

I was really excited for these to go with my new office!! Sadly, I’ll probably end up returning them!!

The agate was beautiful, there were mostly no chips at the corners unlike a previous order from another company. This company actually sent me an after-purchase email for me to write a review. They said there would be a little powder on the rock, but to my pleasant surprise when it came, I didn’t notice any. So it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I’m worried about is the crack at the bottom corner. I can feel it, not sure if it will break off soon. Seems fragile to use as bookends. It also didn’t come with the rubber backings for the base the company said it would come with. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful piece.

I ordered the 3-4 lb. stones in natural. I received them very quickly and they were packaged very nicely. They are very large (mine are 6 inches tall)! There are some amazing natural formations on the unpolished sides and the polished sides are just lovely. Mine has browns, black, clear and hints of a grey blue. And there is little geode formation in the center filled with tiny, shiny crystals. I love the way they look on my desk! They are better quality than I had expected with such a great price. I haven't tried them with books yet but they should be able to hold some good weight. They also give you little bumpers to apply to the bottom to help keep them in place. My bumpers were in the bottom of the box so if you order these make sure to check! I am very satisfied with my order. I would highly recommend!

The beautiful hues of perfectly polished blues and sparkling specks of white and silver are what make this product special. I think they're better to be used as accent pieces than as bookends though. I was happily surprised to discover that they were smaller than I expected since my bedroom lacks space. The two ends come with rubber stoppers that you stick on yourself. However, even with the rubber stoppers attached, they only seem to "work" well when holding a light load...Meaning, the amount of books allowed for secure placement is extremely limited and/or the books must be lightweight. Granted, I've only used them as actual bookends on unpolished wood. Maybe other surface types generate more tension with the rubber stoppers.

Overall, I think they're unique and beautiful and I am happy with my purchase. I ordered them specifically for my bedroom that I am redecorating, hoping to achieve a "tranquil" or "spa-like" ambiance. While researching ideas, I learned that when paired with white or brighter colors, a major presence of blue promotes anxiolytic effects in people. It makes sense as to why hospitals and other wellness companies often use blue in their decor or branding. I'm still in the works of redecorating my bedroom, but they so far pair well with the variety of other blues, greens, yellows, and neutrals I have.

I received these this morning. I was so excited to add these to my office. I opened up the box and a weird smell came from them. Ok no big deal I can just let them air out. As I was unwrapping them from some part of paper, I noticed that neither one of the stones had to rubber bottom they said it would have. I have contacted Amazon to get a replacement. We will see how the others are. I will update this when I get them. The first two photos.
Update: The last two photos are the ones I received as replacements today. There is no smell. Thankfully, thinking about it I would not be able to handle it if them smelled again. These came with 8 little rubber dots that you need to put on yourself. They were easy to do. The new ones are smaller than the ones I returned but I will gladly take it. The backs of the stones I believe are dyed and rubbed off a little on my hands but that is an easy fix with a clear coat.
