I received these this morning. I was so excited to add these to my office. I opened up the box and a weird smell came from them. Ok no big deal I can just let them air out. As I was unwrapping them from some part of paper, I noticed that neither one of the stones had to rubber bottom they said it would have. I have contacted Amazon to get a replacement. We will see how the others are. I will update this when I get them. The first two photos.
Update: The last two photos are the ones I received as replacements today. There is no smell. Thankfully, thinking about it I would not be able to handle it if them smelled again. These came with 8 little rubber dots that you need to put on yourself. They were easy to do. The new ones are smaller than the ones I returned but I will gladly take it. The backs of the stones I believe are dyed and rubbed off a little on my hands but that is an easy fix with a clear coat.

The media could not be loaded.

I didn't like how small they were. Also they are very lightweight. Which is fine and dandy when you're carrying them around of course but when you have a stack of books that are heavy and keep falling down you need something equally heavy if not heavier to hold them. These are not it. They're very decorative and attractive looking. But not much more than that.

These items look just as beautiful in real life as they do in the picture. I originally thought the one I got did not come with rubber feet and was pleasently surprised to find a small sheet of adhesive feet that I had missed in the packaging. This is working perfectly well to prevent sliding.

Also, I initially had my books arranged from shortest to tallest and was having some issues when taking a particularly thick book out from the middle. Without the feet, the end would slide, with the feet they were still tipping if all the tall books suddenly leaned to one side. My solution was to rearrange the books so not all the taller (and heavier) books are together. This seems to be working better. I'm a little bit wishing I had got the bigger size. I'm using these bookends to hold about a dozen books.

Not worthy to be gifted. I can’t see how anyone would think this these bookends are a “pair.” Also, they look nothing like the listed item. I sent them as a Christmas gift to a friend. Now, I owe her an apology.

Pretty, but not practical

They are nice and pretty, no problems with shipping either, but they are too thin.

I placed one of them on my book shelf, next to some of my bigger books, and it looked like it was going to fall over, so I quickly moved it.

The book you see in the second picture is less than 1 cm thick.

I finally figured out that if I moved the bookend near the back of the book, it kinda works.

Would request a refund, but I don't want to go through the hassle of boxing them back up, only to run the risk of them chipping during during the return process and getting more headaches.

These weren't big enough for what I wanted them for (to hold records so that's my fault) but they are so pretty I found a place for them elsewhere.

Other people have mentioned the blue "dye" rubbing off. I got it on my fingers and it washes off easily. I haven't had any issues with it rubbing off on my books or anything like that.

I rated "light weight" with 1 star because they definitely do what they're advertised to do (hold books) and don't like fall over?

The product is misleading it looks nothing like the photo, unless you it’s like a “by chance” type of product that is made by hand and you get it however it comes out, it should be specified in the description.

No rubber bumpers, not a “chunk of agate” a slice and they weigh just under a pound, together. The color is pretty and matches my living room, they will be used as decor, not sturdy enough to hold up books. They are pretty tho, just not useful.

Not at all like what was pictured and terrible smell

Very unsatisfactory and going back. The set looks nothing like natural stone, much less agate, and more like a chunk of resin. Worse still is that it has an overwhelming, powerful odor from whatever chemical they must have used to dye it a single shade of blue. I didn't even want to keep it unwrapped because of the odor. Can't wait to get rid of it.
