Apple Music is my default library on the Alexa app. It plays Apple Music via voice command or bluetooth. The Alexa app also shows most recently played from Apple Music...but thats it! Alexa app does not show ur own Apple Music library and playlists compared to the Sonos app. Lyrics from Apple Music also does not show, only music from Amazon Music. These limitations are frustrating. I don’t want to use voice commands always tonolay Apple Music. Thats why I can’t take Amazon seriously here.
It does not always work. I am unable to select songs through the app to play easily on different devices. I have to ask alexa to play a specific playlist in my library instead of being able to select one of apples many different playlists that they have each day. I have found it clunky to navigate and it has not integrated easily with Apple music.
Generally speaking, it works well once its playing. I find it irritating that I can’t shuffle especially on playlists as I end up always hearing the same songs. I also find it doesn’t always understand what I’ve asked it to play.
All installed correctly, linked, turned off and back on again, still get the "I'm sorry, Apple Music isn't supported on this device" (the device on which Apple music runs regularly!) Works on the Dot Gen 3, and the phone app will let me use the touch screen to pause, restart and adjust volume of the music running through the dot, but not directly act on the source. Amazon, please sort this glitch out.
I live in Australia. I have an Echo Plus and an Echo Show 5. I also have an Apple Music (Australia) subscription. This skill works fine, but both of my devices have to have the language (just language, not location or anything else) set to English US, or it doesn't work properly. With it set to English (Australia) there is limited functionality - eg I can say play Apple Music and it works, but I can't pick a genre, an artist or a song. As soon as I set it English (US) everything works as it should. I should note I have an Australian accent, not an American one. Should be an easy bug to fix, but until then I'll just get used to Alexa responding to me with a twang.
