We live on five acres. There was a lot of fallen timber on our block. We have a large petrol chainsaw which was perfect out on the block, but we needed something smaller that I could manage. I have weak and damaged wrists, so I couldn’t pull the start on the big chainsaw. Besides, using that for making the timber suitable for our fireplace was a bit of overkill.
So I hit YouTube and researched key-start chainsaws. And I found the Alligator out of all the other electric chainsaws, to be the best.
My husbutt was completely dubious when it arrived.
Within an hour of using it, he was a convert.
Within a week, he told me to purchase a second one ‘in case this one died’. That was three years ago.
Like I said, as soon as I saw the price, I hit the BUY NOW button, because that first one that I bought, was purchased overseas on a different website (sorry Amazon). I’d hunted for the best price you see.
THIS price, is cheaper than that first one I’d bought three years ago.
This Alligator cuts through wood like a hot knife through butter - seriously. Not only that, I can manage it just fine. I still have to make sure I don’t go overboard and use it for too long (I have a tendency), but I cannot recommend this highly enough.
What I love:
It cuts with ease of use.
All the tools to maintain the Alligator are supplied.
I only need to plug it in and it goes.
It’s dummy-proof (I’m proof of that).
It cuts jam-wood (a hardwood) with no issue at all.
The Alligator is quicker at cutting wood than the big chainsaw through the same wood.
What I don’t like:
This isn’t a lithium battery operation - which is it’s only failing.
Do yourself a favour - if you need to cut wood for the home, buy this. You won’t be sorry.
This model does require you to have a long extension cord, and it also requires chain oil (it is a small chain saw) so make sure you have some (there is an empty small nozzle container included to make chain oil application easier).
