I wrote my first review before having a lumpectomy, but now that I've worn this bra after my surgery, I have more to say...I learned that if you’re getting a lumpectomy with a sentinel nose biopsy, you need a bra that not only provides compression for your breast, but also won’t rub on your biopsy incision. A couple of the other post-surgical bras I bought have good compression, but ride up too high under the arm right where the incision is so they didn’t work. However, this bra is the winner! And you can’t beat the price.
Here’s my past review….. I have never had good luck finding a wire fee bra that is supportive enough. Most of the wire free bras really only work for smaller cup sizes. You see big women with the wireless bras on and even on the model, they look like they barely offer support. I’m a 34DDD and an underwire is really the only way I can get the proper support. I even seek out bathing suits with underwire. My boobs are heavy and the wire free bras just don’t work and not enough support in very uncomfortable. They weigh heavy on my shoulders. I know the razor back is more supportive, but too heavy on my shoulders/neck area so that’s not an option. I’ve also noticed that the sizing for most wire free bras is by cup size, but instead S/M/L which is also isn’t the best solution for me. My journey to find a good wire free bra came when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am preparing for a lumpectomy and radiation, so I need to find soft, wire free bras to wear while recovering. From what I’ve read, I need a compression type bra for healing through surgery and something soft and maybe not as tight for radiation.
Back to reviewing this particular bra - This bra is not as tight as I expected for being a compression bra. I ordered a M. The band is loose (even at the tightest setting) but the cups fit ok. They’re a little loose too, but I think if I get a small I’m thinking my boobs will just spill out of it. Adjusting the straps helped a little. It looks like you can’t adjust it, but you can. You just need to take out the clip (which is a little difficult) and move it up to the higher loops. All that said, since it was under $20, I’ll keep it. Maybe I’ll get used to it. Maybe it’ll just be a nice lounging around bra for lazy recovery days ahead. I will still continue my journey for the perfect wire free bra.
I have been wearing sports bra in place of a standard bra for years due to being unable to find a bra that supports, stays put and is comfortable. Right now I have 4 brand new bras in my dresser and only one of them is fit to wear and that is the bra I just got from Brabic. I love this bra. no wires, just gentle support that actually supports. It doesn't ride up my back, this is huge for me, because every standard bra I've ever had has creeped up my back giving my girls no support. The adjustable straps are great and easy to adjust. The front closing tabs give you three adjustment levels, I just can't say enough good about this bra. This bra does not look like a sports bra and having it in beige I can wear it with light weight clothing and not worring about it looking like a sports bra under dressier tops. Thanks Brabic for such a perfect bra.
I received my bra a couple days ago. Brought it with me to my preop appointment yesterday. I am scheduled for breast reduction in a couple weeks. The bra is high quality and the wide sides with extra support will provide the compression I need as well as help while my breasts heal to keep them in the proper position. I like the fact that it separates the breasts instead of giving you the uniboob look. My plastic surgeon's office really liked the bra and took down the information to pass along to other patients as the bra they used to recommend is no longer available. They said this bra is better than that previous one. The fact that it does not have underwire but instead a comfortable support "panel", adjustable straps to allow for a personalized fit, and the ability to adjust the front clasps depending on how "tight" you want it is just amazing! Am so happy I found this bra!!! Highly recommend for post surgical use.
I bought this for post explant surgery. It has worked well and I can highly recommend. It's nice that it is adjustable on the straps and chest closure. This is a must have for anyone having surgery but also just for a comfortable bra. How the back straps are really help my back out! Love it!
What a wonderfully soft & supportive bra this is! I was looking for a post-surgical bra - something that would give me the support like an exercise bra, but easier to put on since I can't lift my arms too high to put anything on over my head yet. THIS IS IT! LOVE the front closure w/ hooks - very easy to manage; LOVE the adjustable straps & the padding inside the bra; LOVE the softness of the bra, & it's absolutely comfortable to sleep it. This is one of those bras that will work 24/7, thank goodness, since that is what I need for a good month or 2. I'll certainly be looking to order more. As a BONUS, one would never know it's a post-surgical bra. It's pretty darned attractive (sexy)! :-)
I am currently a 32 DD, and I ordered the medium for my upcoming explant surgery. The medium was really big on me on the tightest hook with implants (especially in the cup). It would be huge without implants. I’m exchanging for a small, and hoping it works better. My measurements are 30” under bust and 37” around fullest part.
I also orders the SHAPERX post surgical bra, and found it to run smaller. The medium fit well on the tightest hook at my current size, but I obviously would need to size down for explant surgery. They both seemed very comfortable and well made.
I had breast surgery and I was looking for a nice sports bra that had good support because I need to wear one for about 6 weeks. I tried a few others but liked this one the best. It has good support but the nice thing is it is that the straps are adjustable and it has a front closure that has 3 sets of hooks so you can adjust that also. I bought the beige. It is also soft and stays in place. I am normally about a 34 d. I bought a small and med. The med fits perfect but I use the small for when I feel I need a little more compression, usually for sleeping.
I have been wearing this post-surgical bra now for 3 weeks, and it is SO much more comfortable than the one from my doctor's office. My skin had become sensitive from the fabric of my other bra to the point where I couldn't stand it. This bra is very well-made, out of much softer material. I wish it was a little thicker material over the breast, so its not so obvious when I'm cold, but that's the only suggestion I have. Great quality for the price too! I wish I had bought a black one to wear under darker tops!
