I just got them and, as another reviewer said, they are BRIGHT. However, that's exactly why I wanted them. They will be perfect to use while camping in my trailer. They have just the right amount of charm that I like - I have tons of lanterns to use on shepherd's hooks for light around my camp site, but they aren't just for decoration. They do light up a room - probably about as much as a 25w lightbulb if not a bit more. The light string is long - which is another reason I bought it. I turned off all the lights in the living room and turned on the string - I had the lights bunched up in my hand and I could read by the light of this string! They are really that bright.
