I love these kits. As I make them, I get more and more comfortable with changing it up a bit, as I get used to the way pieces are created. I give these away to my work colleagues, and this was a special order LOL. She wanted it to be birthday present created in the style of Hot Wheels for her husband who collects them. So I found out what his favorite cars were and tried to make those in FIMO. Then I took the sizes of the included posters and printed off different Hot Wheels posters in those sizes. I also printed off tiny cars and glued them all over the room. I would recommend Alene's tacky glue for everything except metal (beads, etc). For beads and wire (including lamp wire), I use model glue. It holds better and is faster to tack. If this is your first kit, it is not for little kids! This is a small kit that is for hobbyists who love challenges!

Officially became a fan of these DIY dollhouse kits. Had these pop up on my Amazon search for Re-ments and decided to check them out on the YouTube to see what these are about, since they look very interesting, but I hesitated to buy a kit myself for a while, due to reading mixed reviews on these DIY dollhouses in general, and I didn't want to waste my money. However, when I came across these single room sets (the house sets seem too ambitious for a first try), I thought they would make a good setting for some figurines I already bought for my sister as a gift, and decided to try my hand with this. I'm glad I did because it turned out looking better than the pictures. While there are certain tools you would need that aren't included, such as glue, scissors, batteries for the lights, etc., all of the house parts themselves, as well as a thin instruction manual, are included and come well-packaged in a small box. The unassembled pieces look intimidating at a first glance, but, thankfully, the instructions are in English and easy to follow.Reviewed in the United States on 10 November 2019
However, actual assembly is far from easy. I have some experience with crafting and putting together Re-ment sets, which can sometimes take up to a few hours, but this is entirely different. First of all, this isn't called a Do-it-yourself kit for nothing. As the name suggests, you have to put together literally EVERY bit and piece of the house, from the furniture and walls, all the way down to the roses in the vase, which can take several hours on one piece (took me 4 days to complete, not without a few mistakes). Everything has to be precise, so you will need plenty of dexterity in your hands, as well as free time and a lot more patience to put this together, so I would not recommend this for children. Some of the tinier parts require the use of tweezers, and the use of small, thin scissors (basic nail scissors in my case) to cut out the small parts with more precision. However, you will need a small ruler that can measure in centimeters, since cm is used in the manual rather than inches. The chair, footstool and mirror are all made only from a flimsy paperboard, so I cut out some pieces of the box it was mailed in for more balance (always put boxes aside). As for the best glue to use to keep the pieces together, I would recommend Beacon 3-in-1 glue (conveniently recommended by Amazon), which is a lot stronger and easier to work with than Krazy glue in my opinion, though you can use a regular glue stick for the thinner paper parts.
The finished product stands approximately 5 inches in height, 6 inches in width, and 4 in diameter, though the room is the perfect size for a decoration. While the overall delicateness of the pieces can be frustrating to work with, it is also a good thing, as you can just use some decorative paper and basic cloth to personalize the colors a bit if you want to. I'm glad that the package also comes with a dust cover, which saves time and money looking to buy a separate one, but the pieces must also be assembled, which isn't easy as they are made of fragile plexiglass-like material. Went a little overboard with the glue putting together the last part, but overall, the room turned out so nicely that I kind of want to keep it for myself instead of gifting it, heh heh.
By the way, the name of the melody of the music movement is "Carrying You” from Castle in the Sky.
