A warm welcome to my author page! Thank you for visiting.

I live in Scarborough on the stunning North Yorkshire Coast in the UK. My home inspired the creation of the fictional seaside town of Whitsborough Bay where I set some of my books. The Hedgehog Hollow series takes readers to a gorgeous countryside setting on the Yorkshire Wolds.

I live with my husband, our teenage daughter and sprocker spaniel, Ella. I'm a stationery addict with a notepad obsession who loves chocolate (although it doesn't love me), hedgehogs, 80s music, collectible teddy bears and lighthouses.

My career has mainly been in HR as a trainer and recruiter. I had a brief detour into retail to set up and manage my own specialist teddy bear shop and started writing my debut novel on quiet days in the shop.

In June 2020, I became a full-time author. I'm so very grateful to anyone who has bought or borrowed my books in whatever format, helping me fulfil a long-held dream of writing full-time. I still can't believe I get to spend every day chatting to my fictional friends and making stuff up.

Another lovely read in the Hedgehog Hollow series and I loved reading Lauren’s story, the conclusion of it being thoughtfully written. As always, it feels like you’re meeting your old friends as the story progresses and it was wonderfully to be back at Hedgehog Hollow!

I was so looking forward to reading Chasing Dreams that as soon as publication day arrived, I was excited to get started. I also had downloaded the audible version so I sometimes read, sometimes listened and sometimes read and listened at the same time.
Jessica manages to write such brilliant stories time after time, never failing to bring up different topics and types of relationships which can pull at your heartstrings. There are many sensitive relationships which are dea!t with brilliantly in this book.
The story of Lauren was excellent, involving the reader in her past with her husband Shaun and up to the present with the newcomer Riley. We also hear more about the lovely, wonderful Samantha and her husband Josh as they go on Safari on their honeymoon. Leaving all the hedgehogs behind at Hedgehog Hollow was very difficult for Samantha. While they were away, there were many new little hedgehogs who had arrived and were being well looked after by family and staff at the sanctuary.
I just can't get enough of Jessica's books and am already looking forward to the Christmas Hedgehog Hollow book. Well done Jessica.

This is the penultimate book in Jessica Redland's popular Hedgehog Hollow series and I loved it!

This episode centres around Josh's Auntie Lauren and explores her history and the reasons she's been so anti-relationships for herself since we first met her in book one. I love that despite not wanting a relationship for herself, she is kind hearted enough to want it for the people around her.

She's had a difficult time over the years but can she put that behind her? Not while the big question still remains unresolved.

Meanwhile, Sammie and Josh head off on their honeymoon to Africa.

Throughout the book we get little insights into the other characters who we've met earlier in the series which I love.

I can't believe the next one will be the last one, but I can't wait to read Christmas Wishes at Hedgehog Hollow. It's already pre-ordered!

If you haven't discovered Jessica Redland's books yet, you should definitely give them a try. If you love uplifting tales which sensitively deal with some gritty stuff too, then you'll love them.

It was lovely to be back at Hedgehog Hollow, meeting up with the characters that we’ve got to know and love.

This book was about Lauren, we met her on the last book. I enjoyed reading about her previous life, and how the chapters was switched between Sam and Lauren’s viewpoints. I was eager to know how things would go with Riley.

To be a part of Sam and Josh's lives, who are now married was beautiful. I’m looking forward to the next book, to find out what happens next in the characters lives who feel like friends, and we’ve come to love.

I highly recommend this series.

I’m a huge Jessica Redland fan and I can honestly say I’ve never read a book by her I didn’t like but given this is the fifth book in the series I didn’t expect it to blow the other four books out of the water, which it definitely did! The main storyline is about Lauren, Josh’s Aunt, and what a rollercoaster storyline! I devoured the book in one sitting as it was so compelling. It was lovely to be taken to Tanzania on honeymoon with Sam and it was heavenly having the Grimes behind bars. Overjoyed there’s one more HH book to end the series. Roll on September to read it! Once again i have finished this book and want to go and join Samantha and all her extended family at the Hollow.
I thought the way you handled Laura dealing with Shaun/Sasha coming back into her life was well thought out and sensitive but also very realistic. And what Sasha said about how the documentary had focused on the couple who were transitioning was spot on, how does a wife cope with her husband becoming her wife and all the emotions around this, its something that i havent seen focused on before but it must be very true.
Hedgehog Hollow series have wll been amazing, but i think this may now be my favourite as all the chatacters form and settle into themselves no doubt you have many more books to follow. Xx
