West Country detective wizardsReviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 July 2019
The story has an Ian Fleming (James Bond-like) feel at times. Mike Ashby's vivid imagination and clever wordplay shine throughout the book with some very funny descriptions. My favourite passages involve the karate-chopping Chen who very effectively dispatches her victims with gruesome aplomb. These West Country detectives and their team dish out some vengeful punishment in the pursuit of their duties, often in exotic locations frequented by the jet set. The author's eye for detail is remarkable in respect of landscapes and the finer things of privileged life. In reality, West Country news stories are more likely to involve cats being stuck up trees though but who cares ?! A great read.
Out of the ordinaryReviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 May 2020
To be honest, I just thought this was a bit weird, the product of a strange imagination. On the other hand, it was well written, and hung together in the end. Like it or leave it.

The first few pages confused me, but after the plot went very well and quite apace. Good characters and storyline.
"It's dark, racy and different"Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 January 2020
The headline says it all. You'll either love it or hate it. You certainly won't forget it.
GrippingReviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 July 2019
A Gripping, well written, pacy story with an emersive storyline, loaded with twists and turns that kept me reading. Brilliant! I would thoroughly recommend this book. 5*.
