How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suficiente para iluminar tu sendero

Excelente relación calidad precio. No es la más compacta ni ligera pero es cómoda. La luz es suficiente para hacer guiar e iluminar el sendero.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. He likes it but like others have mentioned it’s difficult to get it set up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Running at night: I can see and be seen
Reviewed in the United States on 5 April 2017

Works well for running and for biking at night. It's small enough that the single strap keeps the light snug and not bouncing on my forehead when I run, and it fits under a helmet when I ride. The brightest setting is super bright, and it's fantastic for actually seeing what's in front of me when running or riding: I've never so easily avoided potholes, puddles, and debris at night until getting this headlamp. I also feel safer with it on a bright setting, knowing that cars really have no option but to take notice of that bright light.

The "no battery drain" setting is an interesting feature. I'm sure it keeps the batteries fresher for longer, however, it's activated by pulling the front of the light away from the back of the light, effectively making the entire lamp portion a quarter-inch deeper (in the photo, you can see a red band around the lamp: that's the inner portion of the lamp housing, exposed by pulling the two halves apart to activate this setting). For as much pressure required to pull the two halves apart, they go back together relatively easily, and I've often found the lamp is no longer in the "no drain" mode when I pull it out of my bag where it's stored during daylight. Not the worst design flaw by far, but a harder-to-accidentaly-toggle switch or knob might have been a wiser choice. It doesn't affect the usefulness of the headlamp, though, unless you are specifically considering this headlamp because of that feature.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tilt, direct-off, red light, no-nonsense; great value for night hospital work.

This Divide 175 light is used by an RN during graveyard shifts. I like the "divide" feature, so I can leave it in a locker or bag for long periods without worrying that I'll return to find dead batteries, and the red light is essential for inspection and assessments when I can afford to spare my night vision and the patient's circadian sleep schedule (white light and its wavelengths are far more stimulating/disturbing than red) -- plus, the direct-off feature (activated after you're on a setting for 5 seconds) is a fantastic design point, letting me instantly quit what I'm using without having to tediously cycle through the remaining mode(s). I appreciate that it starts on red, because that's the least "obtrusive" of the modes.

This light *does* tilt, though it's mentioned NOWHERE on the package. I bought this locally first, scrutinizing the see-through packaging for a hinge that indicated tilt. It uses metal tabs and plastic detents to hold strongly at a modest range of angles. Also, it's nice that the headband has an adjuster with a "key" that you can use to pop open the battery compartment (so you don't have to rip a fingernail off).

Lastly, as a minor note, I very slightly prefer the design of the one that I bought locally (rather than from Amazon), because it had little molded "grips" on the front part of the "divide", so that it was a little easier to pull apart. Especially great value on Amazon, though. Fives stars because of the value; were it more expensive, it would be improved with quieter switching, and a memory for the last-used mode.

1.0 out of 5 stars The 7 light functions make it impractical for everyday use
Reviewed in the United States on 10 February 2018

If you want a light that you can turn on and see where you're going or what you're doing this isn't for you. It has 7 light settings and starts out on the low colored ones so you have to click it 4 times just to get the first low beam regular head light. I bought this because I'm an early morning runner and I usually turn my light on and off as I need it but I can't even do this with this light because you have to cycle through all 7 settings to get back to the one you want. I also can't turn it on or off with a glove on. Only buy this if you like gadgets because that's all it is and you have to pay to send it back for a refund.

This is my 2nd headlight from Coleman and I like the adaptability of it. You can choose from 4 different light colors and I find it useful to be able to switch from normal led light to red, blue or green. I bought it as I own older version of this light and it had served me well. Two things that do bother me though. The first it is not very compact and rather bulky for a headlight and second that it does not come with USB chargeable batteries as a standard. But for the price, then in general this is a good headlight with lot of usability.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best budget head lamp out there
Reviewed in the United States on 6 June 2019

This thing is crazy bright, works well and batteries last forever. It's almost as good as the high dollar units that cost 6-8x as much. There is another Colman model that has more brightness control (but not the other colors) that is slightly dimmer but costs 2x as much. I probably have a dozen different headlamps from $10 - $120 and this is the best <$30 head lamp hands down and is often on sale for $10
The only downside is it does accidentally turn on in my go bag occasionally.

5.0 out of 5 stars Light for anywhere anytime

I had one of these and had to buy another one! So this is my second Coleman headlamp (I have two regular flashlights) with the battery divide feature. Look for the red stripe showing and that means the batteries are not connected to the circuitry; and therefore, it's like the batteries are still in their original packaging. Any connection to a battery, even not in use, will drain power. So I love that feature. You can store this in your car and when that emergency comes, it is ready.
It comes with red, blue, and green lamps and four settings for just white light. I understand the red light can be used at night to protect your night vision, say, looking at the stars. Not sure about the blue and green. The four white settings give you low and bright focus with one light, a two light beam which is broader, and a three light beam which is both wide and long. The three light beam is very bright for household use, but is perfect in say a dark space like a cave or the roadside at night. To reach any color or white light setting, just cycle through the power button.
How do I use this? How do I not use it! Under the sink working on plumbing, under the car, in the engine compartment, looking for the circuit breaker box in the dark, changing a tire. On the fun side, I take it hiking and backpacking. I use it to explore lava tubes (like caves).
The headband is comfortable and durable. I have had no issue clunking the headlamp (instead of my head) on rock or the undercarriage of my car or the kitchen cabinet.
