To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
At first when it arrived I had thought perhaps it was too light weight. But knowing Columbia's reputation and technological advantages, I hoped that it would be okay. My son is already wearing it and says the whole thing is toasty warm and a good fit. What more could I ask for?
First off this jacket will keep you warm. I'm in 6° weather in Wyoming right now and I'm staying warm outside. But the reason not 5 stars is because. The inter liner's cuffs are big as everyone says. They do not have elastic in them. I think they did this for wearing big gloves with the jacket but if your not it get very annoying. I fix this problem buy taking about an inch an a half of the cuff and folding it together and sewing it. That made it just right for my wrist. The other problem is the at the back near the bottom it does not zip or snap to the outside liner so it is just hanging there so when you put the jacket on it will fold up on your back. The last problem is the sleeves only have one snap to connect the inner liner to the outside liner and it hooks to it with a elastic strap so it moves more then it should. It is very warm and water proof. It does run big. I got the 3X tall and it is big on me which is not a problem for me because I'm a big guy(6' 3" and 275lb) so it is hard to find cloths that are big on me. But for $200 you think that the problems most people are having would not be a problem. I would say it more like $125 to $150 at best.
