Im very excited about my white/gray Columbia jacket! I purchased this jacket for a trip to Malta( the island) and Italy this coming October and i wanted time to test it out before the trip. So far...it is very comfortable and light weight. The inside is fully lined, even down the sleeve with the mesh that keeps you from getting too hot. The omnitech fabric is not crinkly or noisy but is a little stiff, which is no big deal. This model doesnt have an inside pocket, but the two outside pockets are sufficent. They both zip closed. As with other Columbia products it has a sporty look to it but not so sporty that you couldnt wear it with nice clothes. I dropped some chocolate on the sleeve and was happy that the choclate stain came right out. Whew! Oh, and it packs up nicely and easily into one of the pockets to make its own little pouch. I think this coat will be perfect for travel- waterproof, breathable, comfortable and nice looking.
Just got my jacket in the mail, and I already love it! I am 5'8 130lbs and although I'm generally a small in clothing, i decided to be safe and order a Medium. I'm glad I did because the arm sleeves fit perfect and the jacket has a great length to it. It creates a slim looking silhouette due to the color blocking on the outside and the inside lining feels soft against bare skin. It's comfortable without a jacket underneath, a hoodie could fit (probably a bit snug) under the jacket as well. I will be in Oregon this weekend, so I will check the waterproofing abilities then. Over all, I love this jacket! Definitely worth the price.
Didn't realize there was no adjustable velcro at the hood, so hood hangs really low over my face. I may try sewing something there similar to the velcro strip that was on my old jacket I had to replace. I'm not a sewer so this will end up being a post apocalyptic-looking fix that probably will not work. I also wish the arms had elastic at the wrist. The length of the arms is oddly a little too long.
I wanted to replace my Columbia jacket that my puppy chewed through the pocket for treats. I thought it would be the same but found that it was all netting inside, sleeves included. The grey color was more tan in color and it just felt cheap for the money. With the netting going all the way down, I could picture it snagging on everything in back pockets on jeans. Also , no elastic in cuffs, just Velcro . Really disappointed; sending back!
The style of this rain jacket is very flattering, fits just right while still accentuating your figure. Was especially thrilled that it came in the light color of white and gray as needed it for a trip to the Amazon rain forest and didn't want to buy a dark color. It is very well made, performs well in the rain keeping you dry while not keeping in the heat. Liked it so much, bought another one for my son. My only complaint, is that the matching rain paint does not come in a complimentary light color - only dark colors. All of the companies do the same, it would be nice if Columbia offered their rain pants in colors that match their jackets.
5'4", 125 pounds and purchased a medium. It was definitely a little big, but wanted some room in case I needed to wear it over bulkier clothing.
Brought this as a rain and wind jacket on a trip to Nepal. It was a life saver. Didn't encounter much rain but used it as a barrier for dust and wind and it worked well - the hood functions really nicely. It was also surprisingly warm. Priced well, great product!
[wife] worn all over the globe, did well in the downpour of Belize's rain forest, and in the super windy Bermuda. I take it everywhere. You can layer spring through fall, may not be warm enough in a cold winter, even with base layers. I wash inside out with powder, hang dry, like I did with my North Face jacket in the past.
