I wanted to replace my current current Columbia jacket, as I've had it for many years and it is fading a bit. But this jacket has a strange texture to it. Definitely does not look as though it would last very long. I returned it. Quality was concerning.
The jacket arrived with a broken zipper, smelling strongly of perfume and was dirty. This item had obviously been previously worn, returned and then resold as new. I had read similar reviews from other purchasers but bought anyway thinking that it was a quirk. Columbia is a reputable company, after all. Should have needed their comments. Shame on Columbia! It will be a while before I order from this company again.
I hate this jacket and would return it if I could, but I cut out the drawcord, so I can't. The collar is stiff and creates a "cone of shame" type effect, the chest and shoulders are roomy, but the bottom is snug, AND had a drawcord, and the overall length is shorter than I was looking for. I cut the drawcord out after fighting with trying to keep the coat at a high-hip length instead of at my bellybutton. But, even that didn't help much. It's also not a nice, cozy/soft fleece fabric. It feels cheap and stiff.
Ordered the XS for 5'4" 110 lb frame. Jacket in XS is humongous. I usually wear Lululemon or Blanc Noir and their items fit very well on me, but I wanted to try Columbia. Fabric is soft, but the fit is horrible... Returning.
Already knew before folding the jacket out of the package that the fabric was poor quality. I've never felt stiff and boardy and already pilling polar fleece before. Well I thought maybe it will be nice styling because it's Columbia, nope. The ceter front zipper was wavey like I had sewn it in myself, the seams uneven and puckering, the wrists were encased elastic instead of satin elastic (very cumbersome), the jacket was short in length, almost cropped (not sur how this passed QC) and the pull cord with stopper at hem was thinner than a dress shoelace with the cheapest stopper I've ever seen. Maybe it's because I haven't bought polar fleece in 5 years or maybe it's because this is on sale. I'm not sure, but I couldn't justify parting with my money for so many shortcuts tsken on a garment. I'd rather spend more $ on a quality product.
Pocket seam was ripped. Stuff falls out all the time. Cloth felt old and stiff and used not soft and fresh and plush like a new Columbia jacket should feel. Fits right, but it did not seem to be a new item.
