Columbia Cutting Corners

I have this exact same kind of fleece that I purchased a few years ago, in another color. The one I own is a nice thick fleece that can stand up to really cold temperatures, and is cut in a tailored way and offers a really nice silhouette. I bought three of these from Amazon in different colors and am incredibly disappointed in what Columbia has done now. The fleece is MUCH thinner, and the cut is larger. I am 5'4" 135 lbs. and very hourglassy...in the previous version of this fleece (the one I own) a Small was the perfect size for me, and was form-fitting without being too tight anywhere. I ordered a Small here, and it feels baggy in areas and is not a tailored fit. I will have to wear something underneath to balance this.

Very disappointed with Columbia. This may be a decent fleece for some people who never wore an earlier version, but considering what this product once was, it is clear that Columbia is using cheaper fleece and trying to still rake in the profits at the expense of the consumer.

It's a very soft, very warm jacket perfect for fall weather. My only complaint is that for me the medium fits more like a large which doesn't make it ideal for layering looks and it's a little too baggy for my liking. If you don't want your jackets to be looser than I'd recommend sizing down.

The color doesn't match the photo it's purple rather than raspberry and the first time I put it on and went to tighten the bottom cord it broke and went through the coat I had to sew it to the end.

Wore this jacket exactly once for less than 30 minutes. After I noticed a hole in the armpit area. It is past the return window, hoping I can find someone to repair. Not worth the money.

The sleeves were strangely long. I am not petite but near it so maybe it's just me but I could tuck my hands into the sleeves. Also it is NOT warm. The air cuts right through it and once inside only then are you warm.

I had ordered a Columbia Fleece jacket over a year ago and it was great, very well made with a lot of form-fitting detail and extra pockets and zippers. The only problem was that is tended to absorb stains and eventually became discoloured. I had order the white or sea salt.

I was surprised with this new product. Much less detail (cheaper make). I had to return the first one because the zipper was faulty (unravelled on its own from below). Got a quick replacement which was great but alas, the same thing happened with the replacement. Sadly, I had to return the item.

So, bottom line, cheaper make with faulty zipper, though it is a warm jacket. Maybe you will have better luck.

I was unexpectedly surprised it fit as well as it did. I was very happy with it when I tried it on......

Update review after only wearing it a few times...... at work (on the days certain coworkers are working, it gets chilling in the office), the main piece of the zipping part of the zipper came off as I was attempting to zip it for the first time. I guess I would have expected it to happen if it was several years old and it had been the fault of wear and tear. But NO and it had not even had the chance to get stuck like we have experience zippers to do occasionally. I am very disappointed because other than that, I thought it fit and felt great. But now it is useless to me & for the price I paid, when I can't use it for the main purpose of purchasing it, to wear outside when heavy jackets are not needed.
