I wanted these to work so badly but they are too tight. I'm not exchanging them b/c I'm trying to lose weight and don't want to go up a size. For reference, i'm 5'6", 167# and they were WAY too tight. Just exactly what I was looking for though! Would repurchase when I'm down about 15 more pounds.
A few weeks ago, I ordered a pair of the Daily Ritual Women's Patch-Pocket Chino. They're great and I wrote a great review. So when I saw what I thought this was the same pants in green I quickly ordered another pair. The fabric is completely different! Instead of being 98% cotton, it's 96% cotton. You wouldn't think that would make that much difference but it does. Must be the "Washed Poplin" part. They are lighter weight, more nylon vs. a soft cotton chino. They're not terrible pants. Just not the ones I was expected. I wanted a traditional cotton chino feel and these pants are not. Oh well....
I like the cut, color and fabric of these. I was surprised by how thin they are. I was expecting a cotton chino pant type of material, but these are super thin with a bit of stretch; perfect for summer. I am on the fence about the size, however. They are a tad snug. I normally wear a size 14, and that is what I bought. They just barely fit as is. If these shrink at all in the wash, I will not fit in them. I have never had to buy a size 16 in anything, so I would say that these do run small.
Update: I did purchase the size 16 and they fit perfectly at first, but they stretch out over the course of the day and become super baggy and unflattering.
I loved the cut of these and the weight of the fabric, perfect for summer! I did order an 8 originally and it was a tiny bit too tight for me so I exchanged for a 10. The 10 seemed much bigger, but I was still happy with them. After washing them (cold water) before wearing, the pants had faded in areas throughout going from grey to purple-reddish… unfortunately I had to return them. The tag does say the colors may run and to wash with like colors, but unfortunately the fading made the pants unwearable. I really loved these, so I am tempted to order another pair to see if the same thing happens, but my better judgement tells me not to bother.
I love these so much I've ordered another pair and am considering buying a third. The material is very light weight and not clingy a must for our NC summers. Yes, they do stretch out a bit at the end of the day but not so much that a belt is required. Back pockets hold my phone which admittedly is on the large side. Front pockets are shallow so won't put anything of value in them. Wash well though I lay them out to dry to avoid having to iron. The dark gray is as pictured and I ordered my regular size.
I really like these pants for the summer. They're thin and super comfortable in the heat. The clasp on the pants does stick out, and while the pants fit great, they kind of accentuate my lower belly. I was going to use a different term but I'm trying to keep my review PG. Anyway, I'm a size 8 and size 8 jeans have been getting snug on me, but these fit just a tiny bit loose, especially as the day wears on. I think Amazon could easily knock off at least $5 on these, I dont know that they're worth almost $30. Also why does Amazon offer two kinds of Navy but not 1 kind of black? I'd love a pair in black.
I have average to slightly muscular thighs and these were uncomfortably tight. The waist was fine/loose, but if you work out or naturally have more muscle in your thighs, these are probably not going to be your choice. I really liked the poplin fabric for a nice, cool summer weight and the color was great, but it does not stretch easily and that doesn't work with the tight leg cut. I ordered Daily Ritual girlfriend chino pants and they were such a completely different cut that even a full size smaller was still a bit big (though I think after a couple washes it would be just perfect). Seemed well made otherwise.
Three times is a charm. After receiving 2 orders of faulty pants in a row, I almost gave up on the idea of ever getting the right pair. But I’m glad I ordered these the third time because I finally got a well-made pair that wasn’t defective or wasn’t someone’s washed and shrunk return. So if you luck out and get a nice pair, these pants are definitely worth having, especially in summertime. They’re soft and will keep you cool, in all senses! However, be aware that they stretch after a couple of wears, so my personal recommendation would be to size down. One star off for all the the trouble I had to go through.
These were so cute, a great weight, I loved the dark gray color, and I really wanted to make them work, but they just did not fit my waist and hips. My normal size was way too small, so I sized up one, and it still didn't fit. If the material had had some stretch I might have been able to make it work, but this fabric is not forgiving at all. The pockets also would have been sticking out in a very unflattering way. Had to return both sizes, and am still on the lookout for a nice pair of lightweight pants...
