The illustrations are colorful but not overly bright. The storyline is all about being Proud, and not just about Pride day parade. It does start out on the morning of the Pride day March and Parade. It tells us about everyone getting ready for the celebrations of the day and how there might be some people who don't want you to celebrate either the day or people you know or even yourself. But it goes on to show that you can change a person's mind by talking to them. There are a few concepts that might have to be explained to younger children, but if they aren't pushed you can just use it as a part of the characters that they are playing.
I must say that more books like this are needed in our world to show children it's ok to be who you are.
