Those continuing with the entire sequence of books, you won't regret the lack of Skippy, Joe and the MBOP. Sergun Jates and Nerty totally steal the whole show, and look out for the scene where the (SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER) and the (more spoilers) Sorry folks, but it's hard to justify why you need to read this book without spoilers. Oh and the last line (promise you won't skip to the end and read it?) will have you falling off your chair muttering WTFF?!?!?!?!? Did that just happen? And than laughing your head off. But that won't happen unless you read the whole darned book all the way through.

You found a fine time to leave me Loose Wheel!
(Book 3.5 in the Expeditionary Force series a novella ) followed by book 2 Mavericks (The sixth book in the Expeditionary Force series) I’d be inclined to read all the books in the series up until book 9 which I’d leave until last -I only mention this as I prefer reading books in sequence.
Entertaining in both action and characterisation and as soon as the next novel is offered I will be there, great stuff.
Overall a bit like Catherine Cookson novels in that the same plot is repeated but in an entertaining and lively manner. some of the US army speak is completely baffling but hey I am not in the US Army.
