The water tank mopping accessory exchanges for the normal dust canister. It has a much smaller dust collection section which is separate from the water tank. The robot walks around mopping the floor without leaving it too wet, so that is good.
What doesn't work
- robot doesn't reverse off when it detects it is on carpet rather than a hard floor. (Robot seems to be able to detect when on carpet because it vacuums differently when on carpet and it recognises when it has the mop accessory instead of dust canister)
- the mopping is not terribly effective. If there is a dirty spot, it isn't treated specially, whereas manually you would give an extra effort to that spot.
- it is a bit fiddly to load/unload and reattach the cloth wipe given the container is full of water.
I'm new to this and to the robot. The robot is pretty entry level, so maybe I'm after features in more expensive models. We'll be going up the range when we get next one, but this is a good learning experience.
