I bought this because I was going to have a total knee replacement and it was on the list of things to get. The seat for the toilet and the rearend wiper was a must. Because I had corporal tunnel surgery on both hands within 9 months of the knee surgery my hands were tender and I found that it hurt to use the walker. I had a pair of crutches so I tried them and found that they were easier than the walker. If you have a set of crutches at home I would not buy the walker in this case. You can always get the walker on Amazon within 2 days.
Used for about 4 weeks after a knee replacement. Only issue was I did not like the ‘pads’ on the bottom of the legs. I stopped using it outdoors as I was nervous those pads would wear so much that they would scratch our hardwood floors coming in. But did the trick for the period I needed it. A lot less expensive than renting one.
This is a sturdy but light walker. The more expensive model is probably more suitable for people who are much larger than me (165 lbs). It rolls easily on any surface in the house. Watch the width if you have narrow doors (our bathroom doors were 24"), so I mounted the wheels on the inside of the frame to get through these doors. This is not as stable as the normal mounting, so be warned.
I will need this after knee surgery. We live in a mobile home with narrow doors, so I was able to reverse the wheels to the inside to go through the doors. Works well for now. I'll see when the pain sets in.
This was purchased for my moms knee replacement surgery. It was quick to arrive, easy to put together and has been used daily during her recovery period. It's light weight, its not completely sturdy but I would recommend if you need only for a short period of time.
