Sizing is off

Not sure how they come up with sizing. All my pants waist sizes are 34-36 but 36 in these are way too small. Measured my waist with a tape and got 44”. Ordered 44 and now so loose I can pull them right off. Going to try a 42 not sure what to think. The quality seems good but sizing not right at all

Shorts are made from very sturdy and nice looking material. Also well made but they are not 44's, more like 42's. Very disappointed.

I know that fit, pockets and whatever else is subjective so it's hard to "review" clothing outside of whether or not it falls apart or lasts. So, my "review" is entirely based on what I would have liked to know before buying these shorts. The inseam is long, I knew this, but I didn't know how low the bottom of the seat sits, THEN the inseam. I've got short legs, which doesn't help the issue but these are 9inches past my knees. The secondly, the belt loops are incredibly tight for a larger belt like mine. It's 1.5in wide and a bit thick. I had to feed my belt through with the shorts off and with great effort. So, I hope you don't plan to use a large belt. The worst of the issues, the pockets suck. A lot. They are nice and wide at the top, but tapper very quickly as you go into the pocket. Granted, I have a Razer Phone 2, but it barely fits my phone, let alone my hand and phone in order to retrieve my phone from my pocket. I'm not sure how these are "work" shorts if the pockets are small, you basically can't use a heavy duty belt and the sizing is off. They are also very tight in the hip section. I always buy pants 2 sizes larger because I have big thighs and I also conceal carry. Normally 2 sizes bigger are massive on me in the waist and big in the hips and thighs, these are far from that, these fit like a snug correct size would in the hips, 1 size up in the waist but fine in the thighs.

Make sure you order at least 3 sizes above your own if you want them to fit.

This is the second time I have ordered Dickies shorts. Amazon lost the first package. Ordered so I would have fresh cloths for an event in WA. NOPE.
Pissed but stuff happens. Reorder , fresh clothes anyway. I got the shorts today and they are to small. I ordered 2 sizes higher than my size (enjoy loose fits) and I have to fight to button them up. They are made in a country that I can not pronounce. Will not by Dickies again.

The waist of the shorts fits to size and was perfect, but I avoided purchasing the Waist size 44 "Big" because I dnt like how big the leg slots are & I couldn't seem to steer away from tht even though I ordered the size 44 "regular"

I bought these shorts to wear at work during the Summer months. They're great. I want 10 more pair!
They come out of the dryer virtually wrinkle free. I've had other cargo shorts that come out of the dryer with the pockets looking all crunched up. Not these. The shorts are also durable. I carry tools and random hardware in the cargo pockets. I find myself missing the cargo pockets on the weekends when I am not wearing my work clothes. The fit and the length are perfect.

I commute to/from work via a bike, pedal bike so generally the crotch will wear out. These shorts last me about a year, with all the biking and then walking I do in them they work great and last quite a while. at first they are kinda stiff but after a few times of wearing them they feel softer. All in all I love these shorts. All the other shorts I've had haven't lasted any near as long. I like these shorts a lot. I will keep buying them.
