My husband bought a few pairs of these shorts for work 3 years ago and is still wearing them. He liked them so much he decided to add a few more to the rotation. So we bought 2 more and the new ones are his "day off" pairs while the "old" pairs are strictly for work. Dickies always makes sure their articles of clothing are well made, and these are really no exception. The downside is that it takes a LONG time for them to soften up and get really comfortable. It probably doesn't help that we machine wash them but then hang them to dry - I think that preserves the quality and prevents excessive wear, but then it also prevents for the fabric to break down and get cozy. The way we dry them, they'll probably last forever.
I like everything about how this company makes clothing: - tough - wrinkle free and keeps it's shape - all the pockets in the right place - perfect for casual work atire - good reputation But i tried twice to order the right size shorts (and yes i measured and confirmed with the size chart) and TWICE...no joy. Very frustrating. They need to explore half sizes or reconfigure their size chart. I’m not medium...and I’m not large?? Maybe the size chart being displayed is incorrect? Not sure. But medium was too tight...and large was perfect...except that the shorts came down to my ankles. ( 5’7”)
Ordered 2 pairs of the khaki color. on the second day of wearing them, the clip that secures them (these don't have a button) fell off. All other Dickies items I have, that clip has 'Elited' engraved and this didn't, so I'm not sure if this was a previously returned defect or what, but I had to fabricate a new closure. Regardless of that issue, these cargo shorts are the best. Durable, comfortable and fit just right.
I know I'm a short guy (5'4), but I felt like I was wearing cheap, uncomfortable capris. They came down nearly to my ankle. The waist was fine, but instead of a button, there was a flimsy tiny clasp. What a waste. I work in restoration and do physical work all day. The hunt continues...
These things are ridiculously HUGE! I know it has to be "your style" and I'm down with bigger shorts but these things were just too dang big for even my taste. The waist fit good and they seem to be made out of heavy duty material though.
I'm usually between a 32 and 34 inch waste in all my pants and shorts. I ordered a 34 in these as I like my shorts on the bigger side for comfort reasons. Man, 34 didn't come close to fitting me. I know this 'rona has me sitting on my butt all day, but I didn't put on THAT much weight. I'm gonna try again and go up to a 38
