I have bought myself a Dickies flannel shirt every year for several years. The flannel is soft and there is one chest pocket, not too large, just right. As the shirts usually shrink a bit, they are 100 percent cotton, I size up and buy a large. This year I found some herringbone print Dickies flannel shirts at a price I thought quite reasonable, $19.99. I bought two. However, the sizing of the shirts is not as advertized. The shirts are supposed to be Regular sizing, the shoulders are in the correct place. The length is way too long, down to the mid-thigh, and the shirts are too wide as well. I suspect they are actually a Plus size. I thought the shirts would shrink in the wash and become the size I needed, not so! So disappointing, I might not buy Dickie flannel shirts again.
Bought this shirt for my wife and the shirt fit great, felt nice and was what she expected it to be. Wore it a half dozen times and this time when it was laundered the back of the shirt pulled completely out of the yoke of the shirt thus ruining it. I have worn Dickies clothing almost exclusively for years and have several t shirts that I have worn daily for 5 years. I didn't expect that type of longevity out of her flannel shirt, but more than a half dozen wears.
Not plaid, but you can tell that from the photo. It is cotton, soft but not flannel. The most disappointing thing is how it is sewn with puckered seams and odd pooches where the sleeves are set into the shoulders. It needed ironing after I washed it to get the dye smell out, but why bother? It did not wrinkle; it just looks rumpled. I kind of doubt ironing would help.
I purchased this as a layering piece for traveling to colder climates. It is a thin flannel, which is what I was looking for. However, it's a wrinkled mess. I would have to iron it each time before wearing, so it doesn't work for travel. I will most likely donate it. I purchased the gray herringbone.
While I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with the product, it's just so different to what I expected based off the photos I saw and in a way that I don't prefer. I was expecting a light solid brown, it's most definitely a muted orange with a distinct threaded design that you can't make out from the photo. It also doesn't have the consistency of flannel, or at least not what I usually attribute to flannel. This material was much lighter than what I was hoping for. So while it didn't meet my expectations, I'm sure it will please others who are looking for something lighter and brighter I guess.
