I never could wear strapless bras- even in my twenties- I always needed underwire - and now I run 36C to 36D. But I needed to do strapless for my gown for son's wedding. Friend told me to buy corset but they are so expensive and there are so many choices in stores. After reading reviews on Amazon, I ordered this one with expectation of return. I was shocked how comfortable it was - wore it for 12 hours under a gown and it stayed in place - was not hot (April wedding) - I felt like I was in my underwire bra. And it slimmed me in waist- and it actually made me walk more upright. I almost felt like it was good for my back . I love it - as did everyone who saw me in the gown-- people thought I lost lot of weight. I usually wear underwire bra 36C/D -- and this corset in 36C fitted me perfectly with clips in back closed on middle one (3 rows of clips). I bought rhinestone bra straps - just in case -- but never needed them from noon till midnight.
Back in 2016 when I first tired on my wedding gown in a bridal store, the clerk had given me a similar garment to wear under my dress. I have been trying to find said garment ever since to no avail. I bought this product after purchasing a steel boned corset... What's wrong with this product, for my body, is that the boning is plastic (after wearing steel bones I felt the difference in support and prefer the support of steel). The garment stops short after my belly button and doesn't fully cover the length of my torso (which measures about 8.5 inches when seated). I am 5'3", 145ish lbs, pear shape (measurements 32, 29, 38), so when I sat down, some of my extra skin/fluff was pushed underneath resulting in an unsightly bump. These cups have underwire that didn't fully hug my rib cage to support my breasts. And the cups were also molded, but not supportive enough to give me any cleavage. My breasts are considered "side set" and so from the side angle while wearing the garment my breasts looked normal, but from head on they looked non-existent and formed creases where my arms meet my chest. The cups had begun folding over on this area as well. The back panel fabric (a spandex) had squeezed my back to produce a weird bulge near one side of my ribs.. Shipping was quick, price was reasonable given that in most bridal boutiques this costs over 70 dollars. Returns are free and so I opted to send mine back.
Putting without help is a challenge. This is a snug fit as you would expect with a strapless bra. Tried reaching back but could only hook two of the holes. Tried hooking in front with the thought I could then twist around to the back - too snug for this. I finally hooked it up, stepped in and shimmied it up past my hips and in place. I made it but was in a sweat from the pulling and tugging. Once I got it on it fit. I am short waisted so it came down past my waist but was ok. Would recommend anyone size up. I wear a 36" bra and ordered the 38". That worked and the 36 would have been impossible for me to get in and would end up with back fat.
It was almost what I needed but the bust had no padding support. I still kept it because it was the best ones I found. I wanted a way to have a strapless bra that wouldn't fall while also giving me some compression. I discovered a waist trainer / cincher plus a strapless bra works way better (plus it supports you better without painful straps). I need compression in my mid section due to a health condition (POTS) and this product didn't provide much.
Very nice fit! I fit a 34 of my cup size, but originally ordered a 36 to allow adjustments as my weight fluctuates before my wedding. The cup on the 36 appeared stretched, so I exchanged for a 34. The cup size is perfect, but it also leaves little room for waist adjustment if I gain a few pounds. I'm also a petite woman (<5') and the height is perfect for my short torso.
What a horrible experience! I ordered this as a rush because they didn't have it Prime, and I need something to wear with my wedding gown for the seamstress STAT. She recommended a bustier so I found this one and ordered a band size up. Getting it around my waist/body was no problem, and it was fairly easy to turn around to the front. The problem? The "bust" part offers ZERO support whatsoever, gave me NO lift at ALL, and somehow still managed to squish my underarms so bad that they stuck out and looked horrible, like a pool of extra skin that would look awful with my dress. Basically, this provided NO lift, No support, and NO difference that I needed to lift them up in my dress. Returning.
This product is nicely made but I think it is only intended for bodies that are in good shape. Mine is not. I am a senior who is fighting with gravity and some excess pounds. The outfit I have chosen for my granddaughter's wedding has a top with thin straps and requires a strapless foundation that will lift my bust into place and hopefully give some shape to the rest of my body. Since there were no pictures of the back of the Dominique Bra 8541 I had no idea how low the back side was cut. I had expected it to follow under my arms and across my back to support the cups in front. This bra swings down to slightly above mid back. After reading the various reviews about the way to figure the size, I ordered a 40 C. I usually wear a 38 C. The cups fit fine but the 40 barely made it around my body and I had to use the very biggest set of hooks. They did hook, but the result was to end up with lots of skin hanging over the top of the back making a terrible bulge under the top of my outfit. If you have a body with no excess fat or skin then I'm sure this would work nicely for outfits with low cut backs and the need for a strapless bra. It just doesn't work for bodies needing lots of support everywhere.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I haven't worn it for the 12+ hours for which it was purchased. I read the reviews and ordered it one size up (only measurement...not cup) so it fits beautifully. Smooth, seamless and perfect for the corset and very sheer blouse it was bought to showcase. Looks great underneath!
I love this. I ordered it for the strapless bra aspect because typically strapless bras are too tight around my ribs and feel uncomfortable. This is so comfortable, feels secure, and gives provided me with good tummy control. I am 5’1 and the length is good on me. I am 140 lbs and I ordered a 38a.
I adore this product - I've always wanted to wear strapless / spaghetti strap summer dresses, but having 32D breasts going braless wasn't really an option. But this works perfectly and doesn't move at all - I don't have to do any of the awkward pulling up the bra moves during the day. Would 100% recommend.
