About the Author
Enid Blyton (1897-1968), also known as Mary Pollock, was the most successful children's writer of her generation. A prolific writer, she completed over 400 books during her lifetime. She is in the top 10 all time best seller lists – her books having sold over 600 million copies. Her work includes the Faraway Tree series, the Famous Five mysteries and the Noddy series.
Kate Winslet is an English actress and the youngest person to accrue six Academy Award nominations, winning the Academy Award for Best Actress for The Reader. She has won awards from the Screen Actors Guild, British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, among others. She has been nominated twice for an Emmy Award for television acting, winning once for her role as Mildred Pierce in the 2011 mini-series of the same name.
