I love this Standing Desk - I was getting pains in my back from sitting too much and this has definitely helped. A tiny learning curve which I will explain here. When you start using it, hold the sides and pull it up to it's full height; then let it down again, before pulling it gently up. You will hear clicks as you go up through the 8 settings. When you get it to the height you require (8 is the top one) just stop. You can stop at every setting if you wish to see what suits you best. (In the instructions it says to hold the edges while you're doing this and when you reach the height you want, just squeeze the sides)? In the model I have there is nothing to squeeze? Not necessary anyway. I think that might have been a typo? Then when you want to go back down, you pull it up first to the top, holding the sides and gently lever it down. Don't just let it drop. It will slow down if you accidentally let that happen, but over time it might injure it. My Laptop is 15" Wide - the top of the Desk is 25". If I put my Laptop to either side there is plenty of room to place a book or something you might want to print? Or any other item that you might want to put there. I don't like using my Laptop on a flat surface, so I use my 'sloping table top stand' on it and it works fine. I also do some photography so without the Laptop on it, I have plenty of space to place my photos when working on them. This desk is just so useful for almost anything and very sturdy! Definitely buy it!
