2.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, but could be much better.
By RZ on 6 November 2020
Although I have only used for a few days now, you can tell that the stand is robust and solid. it can handle well a 6.3kg monitor (Samsung curved 34") and the bracket fits well very nicely.

very easy to set up, with only a few screws needed (Allen keys provided within the package).

I personally find the USB ports at the base of the arms useless.
there are 2 USB (female) ports at the back and 2 (also female) at the front. it seems that you need to connect the back ones to the computer (or docking station) and that gives you 2 USB ports just under your monitor. However, the cables that are provided within the package, does't quite work - one side female, the other is male. so you can't really connect it to a computer or docking station as you would end up with the female side of the cable to connect to the stand, which obviously doesn't work. So you would ultimately need to buy two male/male USB adapters (one for each of the 2 ports) which is ridiculous, clunky and adds an extra point to fail. Not to mention that USB type A those days? really?
Also, a minor observation on the ad is that the model shipped is different from the one on the photos - basically the base has a different shape and the USB ports are located on a different location.

Ok... USB is a "nice to have" that I could happily ignore on my setup, but the killer point is that that the lower arm doesn't swing, which introduces a whole lot of limitations in the movement. For example, that pushes the monitor towards the user a bit too much if you use it centred on the table. It also means the user has to allow for some extra space at the back (between the arm base and the back wall) as it protrudes backwards. On my setup, this meant that the monitor is now fairly close to my eyes, which is annoying for when you have a large monitor. The attached picture shows illustrates this issue.

The only alternative I could think of is to turn the mount sideways and de-center the monitor from the the base which is horrible from Bothe aesthetics and functional as per additional photos.

I have worked on a place that had those stands with movement at the lower joint and it definitely makes a big difference.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product with room for improvement
By Ramzinho on 31 October 2020
I'd have given this product four and a half stars if Amazon allowed me.
My issue with this is minor and will not affect most users, I'm using this on my UW 3440X1440p monitor and it holds is very well in height or distance I want it at but not at the required tilt.
I bought this Arm to save desk space, UW monitors usually come with a very deep stand mine was 30cm (12") deep. this monitor arm made my monitor assembly only about 15cm (6") saving me half the space.

My main issue is the tilt mechanism is very stiff and uses a bolt that needs to be tightened or loosened every time I want to adjust my tilt. it also has a bit of give, so if I want it the monitor angled up at 5 degrees I've to set it to 8, and by the time the screw is tightened, it sets to the right space. However, this may not impact everyone as not everyone liked their monitor tilted upwards. here is my list of pros and cons.

Pros:
1-Good Price
2- Sturdy and well built
3- Not many plastic parts.
4- Great for Big monitors (Given you are with the weight limit)
5- Flexible and smooth up/down - In/out movement. Rotation is great too

Cons
1- Tilt is a pain
2- Usb HUB comes with one port (I thought they would be 2)

Assembly took some work...but I would definitely buy again.

I'm mounting an Acer Predator XB271HU bmiprz with this arm. This monitor has it's VESA mount recessed into the housing a maybe <1/4". The mount on the arm(square VESA mount) was just too big to sit in the VESA mount recession on this monitor; or the recession in the monitor housing was to small. I sanded the edges of the 'square mount part' on the arm with 100 -> 60 grit sandpaper until it fit. Woohoo, finally.

There is a plastic shroud in the top arm arm section that accepts the bottom arm section. This plastic shroud had mostly slid out after I did a test fit on the 2 arm sections, I -barely- slid the bottom into the top but that shroud came out when i pulled them apart. I ended up jamming (tapping with screwdriver handle) this plastic shroud into the upper arm to the point where something happened in there and it wouldn’t nicely accept the bottom arm. After some finessing with a rubber mallet the two pieces went together and pivot just fine; there’s -maybe- a little more resistance in the pivot than I expected. This whole thing could have been avoided.

All things considered, this monitor arm is great and HUGE (see picture). I’ve had a smaller NB arm for years and love it, which is why I purchased this one. The movement and flexibility of positions is great.
Even given the PITA assembly, for the size and price point, I have no regrets. You're spending a lot more money if you want a better arm.

-1 star for that plastic shroud debacle between the 2 arm sections.
-1 star for me having to get sand paper out of the basement.
+1 for size, stability, and price point.
