Wonderful, plush, thick bath mat

I was pleasantly surprised by this bath mat. I needed to replace an older, large sized memory foam bath mat in this dark purple color and had a terrible time finding one that matched and was reasonably priced. I found this searching on Amazon--and for some reason, this did not pop up earlier in any of my searches--so I decided to try it for less than $20. I worried that it would be thin and flimsy, especially after reading some reviews that it is thin--but it's wonderful Even more plush than my last mat, (Better Homes and Garden) softer, and a beautiful rich dark purple. If this is the color you are looking for, don't hesitate to purchase this item, it is very soft and plush. I will update this review if I find it doesn't dry well or falls apart quickly, but so far I am more than pleased with this product.

My previous set of baths mats were purchased at a department store for twice the price and fell apart after the first two washings. The Geteele mats arrived yesterday. My first impression is they are very beautiful and high quality. They have a velvety feel when you step on them and give the sense of having a much thicker cushion in spite of a very thin profile. My roommate and I took turns stepping on the mats because they feel so nice to step on!

Perfect size for my small bathroom. We've been remodeling an older home and the problem I was having was getting a rug not to go over the venting. I had 17" to work with.

I love how my feet just sinks into this mat. It almost feels like its air filled when it goes down, and it pops up again like new. It's durable and can stand lots of moisture, especially if used next to shower/tub. Bottom has somekind of slip proof material to help keep it place so that you don't slip when trying to get out of shower.

I love this bathroom mat. My bathroom is a stone tile that is very hard and cold. I got this for in front of the mirror so I could stand on something soft when I get ready in the morning (brushing teeth, hair, makeup, etc.) I love standing on it and it has made my morning routine a lot more pleasant. The only down side is that since it is so plush and soft when I step off of it it makes my regular floor seem so much colder and harder by comparison. I wish I could make my whole floor this material. My toddler was fascinated by this and actually stops on it when she is on her way to the bathtub because she likes stepping on it and looking at her footprint indents.

Since I don't have this outside my shower, I can't comment on how it absorbs since it doesn't get routinely wet, but it has been easy to clean.

Cushions My Dogs’ Drop Down From The Ottoman

My review isn’t about bathroom use or absorption. I’ve got two large dogs: a 65lb 3 12yr old and an 80lb 10yr old. My older dog recently started limping on a front wrist. After tests and deductions, it seems to be a soft tissue injury from blunt force trauma or play…like stepping down the 6 1/2inches from the end of my bed to the ottoman, then jumping down 16inches the the hard tile floor with all his weight on those front paws/wrists. You’ll notice a regular light blue bathroom rug underneath part of the navy memory foam rug I’m reviewing. Before the injury, I had a regular bathroom rug there to prevent slipping and sliding when the dogs hop down. However, my boy is 10, older now and that’s what we believe caused his injury.
So I read an article and investigated memory foam rugs.
This rug ticked all my boxes:
-Non slip backing
-1inch thick (from what I researched, memory foam rugs range from .3-1inch thick) Although I didn’t measure, it seems pretty cushy. And the online article I read about best memory foam rugs named this one as 1 inch thick
-Stable/firm to land on, yet cushy (since my dogs haven’t learned to use the dog stairs and instead drop that 16inches to the hard floor)

I cannot speak to how it does with water or wetness stepping out of a tub or shower because we don’t use it for that.

Many reviews complained about their rugs coming folded. Mine did. See the first picture. But within a week of just laying it flat, as you can see in the other picture, the creases and lines were gone. Looks fine.

The true Genteele bath mats are the best. Just make sure they have the little circle wheels on the bottom of the mat. I have ordered three different sizes and when ordered 20 x32 I recieve a different brand. Only on this size. Not as thick or cushy. Just make sure of little wheels on bottom for true Genteele. I have another use for this mat, I am a true vegetable gardener and need a mat to kneel on. The true gardening mats are just too thick and hard for me to kneel on. So I use the smallest Genteele mat and it works great. Moist or wet ground does not seep through the mat with the rubber backing. Very cushioning on my 62 yr old knees. They really are the greatest for the bath or any other uses very thick and cushy. The pictures show true Genteele rug size 17 x 24.

I didn’t know what to expect from these since I’d never used anything but a towel or “rug” like bath mat before. I got the small and larger rectangular sizes and the one that wraps the toilet and they look great and feel awesome underfoot. The memory foam does retain the water for a bit after you get out of the tub but it’s only really noticeable if people take back to back showers/baths.

Pros: Look great
Very soft fabric
Comfortable to stand on
Great absorption and dry out fairly
quick

Cons: Hard to machine wash
Takes forever to dry out after washing

Besides washing them I love these and highly recommend them.

I’m hoping and praying! Today we redid our entire bathroom, but kept the brown/turquoise (tealish) color scheme. We have decorative towels, etc. I just had to upgrade the rugs/shower liner/curtain, we removed the old corner cabinet that we had for 30 years. I love chocolate brown rugs and always have. This is absolutely gorgeous! It’s so plush. I kicked my shoes off and they sunk into the foam. I hope it stays plush. I got the 22x36 for aside the tub and the toilet mat. I really love the rich coloring. FYI, I had this rug for a week. When you first receive, it’s folded 3 times for this size. Just invert the folds, let sit for a few days. The folds were gone when we laid it down today. We received the toilet mat today, it’s folded in half and both sides tucked in. I unfolded. I had just finished mopping the floor, still semi damp, I dropped the Matt and stepped my foot around, the folds disappeared.
