My stepdad is an eagle fanatic, so I purchased this as a gift for him. It's a nice gift but required some polishing, and there were a few imperfections in the acrylic. This being said, you do pay more for quality, but the seller needs to specify there might be imperfections to allow the consumers to make a choice whether to purchase it for the budget price I got it at (at the time). MYy stepdad said he liked it, though, and that was important to me. It does require batteries to light up, but it is pretty when it does and detracts from any imperfections.

Look carefully at the clear acrylic area surrounding eagle. Mine was not polished clean. Fortunately I was able to buff out the scuffs w/ a Magic eraser. I think it's hit or miss on whether you get a polished or scuffed one. Also there are visible specs embedded in the acrylic. Noticeable closeup only. The backside is the eagle design etched out.This is a small figurine and purely decorative. The changing rainbow colors are pretty and change smoothly. It is pretty. Requires a AAA battery. I'd take a chance and order this again. It's hit or miss with the scuffs and specs. Good luck!
