I don't typically write reviews but I had to for this bra. I am heavy chested but a very small person so it makes buying bras incredibly challenging. This sports bra is extremely supportive and honestly it could be an every day bra. At this price point it's well worth the buy. I recommend it!
I bought the 44H size. I was leery of the way they tell you to measure, but it was pretty close. Measurement says I should have bought at 46G, but I know my chest area and history of bra purchases, and I know that bras stretch out after one or two wears. So, I went with the 44H and it's just perfect... or it was after I did a little work on it...
I've never been a fan of underwire bras, but this one in particular was bad. The wire was poking me on the side and was way too stiff to conform to the shape of my breasts (meaning it doesn't lay well beneath them). Once I removed the wires, the bra was perfect! Comfortable and fit exactly as it should. I would definitely by this one again. The price was pretty high, so I went with the pink/gray one as it was 50% cheaper than the white or other usual colors. No one sees it but me, so no one cares.
I used glamourise's web site bra size calculator, it gave me a 34F recommendation. My regular size in other european bras is 32H or HH. Underbust is 32, full bust 42, overbust 36-37. So I bought a 32H, 34F, 34G, 34H, 36G, and 36H just to see how they all worked.
First, every last one of them had FIVE hooks. Ugh. I've never had to do up more than four, and I can say the fifth one makes it much much harder. Once in, boy was that secure. Ain't nothing was going to mess with that. There is some stretch in the bands, and the bands are several inches shorter than the band size would make you believe. So they really do expect you to buy a bigger numbered band than the inches of your underbust measurement.
Second, the 32 I could only do up on the very widest set of hooks. The 34 I had more choices depending on the cup size, and the 36s I could do up on the tightest set of hooks. So that meets my expectation, given there are multiple columns of hooks and the bands do stretch.
When it came to cup sizes, though, things started to go sideways. Not a single one of them got the center underwires anywhere near my breastbone, they way it's supposed to be. None of them seemed to change the depth that much going from size to size in the same band--it seemed as though most of the changes were in the wire width, not the cup depth. The wires seemed like they are a good size for my bust root size--this brand is narrower than Freya, for example, which is better for me. But not adding depth is a problem, because I have very U shaped boobs. They're *long* not *wide* if that makes any sense. The real deal breaker though, was how an otherwise decent cup size would have inexplicable wrinkles right over the nipples. The fabric is clearly molded in some fashion even though it's not foam, and for some reason there's fullness in the nipple area that my boobs just don't pour into properly, leaving vertical wrinkles at the nipple that show under t-shirts. In cup sizes where there weren't wrinkles, I felt rather compressed all over, like I had to work to breathe a bit more.
I really wanted this to work, I wanted at least ONE of the sizes to work out, because I really like a seamless cup. But I need to breathe and I don't want wrinkly nipples, and five hooks is just too much. *sigh*
The bra arrived with white deodorant marks and animal hair/fur all over it!! It arrive late in the evening and I tried it on in the dark before going in the bathroom light to see the fit. I was extremely upset with myself because normally I would inspect the package first. But it was late and I wanted it for the next gym day. Upon looking beyond the obvious used product, I would have returned it because I wasn’t a fan of the material or design. Kinda looks like a bra from the 60’s but when you wear a 36F (ddd) do you still get pretty in a sports bra? I initially bought it because it went on like a bra instead of going over your head and the high impact description. Returned and looked elsewhere. Still looking.
This bra fit exactly to size. The only thing I don’t like right out the gate about this bra is the underwire. I know it is a time bomb until this wire pops out, BUT for the cost I’m good with it! It is extremely hard to find good bras, whether sport or regular, in my size 44H. It does give a little bit of the Madonna look but it is soft and it lifts me in all the right places. This is a day 1 review.
