Upon opening immediately knew the suction cups were not going to work. The mesh pockets themselves are perfect. I tried to put everything up to organize my shower and the first suction cup fell down as I was sticking the second. Definitely not going to stay up.
Since there is more than one design you can choose when buying this product, it's important to note that I'm reviewing the two small mesh bags that are supposed to attach to your wall or shower with suction cups. The concept for this product is great, but unfortunately, it is very poorly designed and just doesn't work. The first two things I noticed when trying them out were 1) the flimsy quality of the mesh (which is not actually a mesh, but rather a sort of lattice design made of cheap material that is likely to wear out) and 2) the burnt chemical smell that made me wonder what toxins this product might contain. Things only went downhill from there; no matter what surface I tried to stick the suction cups to, they would fall down within seconds. I tried the wall of the shower, the bathroom wall, the door, a cabinet--all with the same result. This was without even attaching the bag, but attaching it was also a challenge. There are two loops that are meant to be hooked over the suction cups, but they fit poorly and fall off easily.
In theory, this would be a handy, portable way to stash your personal care items, and it would especially great for a college student living in a dorm. In practice, though, it's mostly useless. You could technically use the bags without hanging them up (it fits a variety of small personal care items or a couple of shampoo bottles), but since there are no handles--and since they're not sturdy enough to effectively stand up on their own (unless you fill them with a lot of items that will hold them up)--they don't work well for that purpose either. I really can't foresee using these at all.
This listing is for different items / sets. The one that I am reviewing is the “Medium Set” which has three bags. Small: 6x3x6", Medium: 9x4x7.5", Large: 12x3x4.75"
The bags come with suction cups. It all depends upon your walls, and what you’re putting into the bags, whether or not they are going to work for your walls. Obviously anything heavy will not work. The bags open-up at the bottom, so that they are square on the bottom. But there is nothing to keep them that way. If that’s something you desire, then you’ll have to create your own “plate” to put in the bottom.
Overall they are fine. They are Made in China, and at the current price of three bags for twenty bucks, they are crazy expensive. They couldn’t have cost more than a few cents to make in China, so a “reasonable” price for them would be between three and five bucks.
Am I doing this wrong? I tried to hang one of the bags above my bathroom sink, on the tile splashback below the vanity mirror, but the suction cups don't stick. I tried moistening them with a little water, but they still won't stay up. The bags are nice, kind of a rubberized mesh that should hold up pretty well. It's a nice organizer for your dental floss and assorted small vanity items. Probably would need to buy suction cups elsewhere, 'though, to keep it from falling down.
Suction cups do not support any weight but slide down the shower wall. The bags smelled horrible and were coated with something that felt like dish detergent - foamed for awhile as I tried to wash away the smell. The bags when open are too short in height and of too wide a base to support shampoo/conditioner bottles (even if the suction cups could hold the bag on the wall), so they just flip out and fall. An overall annoying experiment. I cannot see one good feature of this product to recommend it to anyone.
