First - as others have stated there’s no off switch. If you lift it up, you get a flashlight. If you set it down you have to wait 10 minutes for it to turn off on its own. Having an off switch would have been so helpful.
Second - the 10 minute timer. We bought this primarily for the nightlight feature because our 4 year old is all about Bluey and all about nightlights. A 10 minute timer on a nightlight is too little time in my opinion. The first night we left it close to our daughter and it took her much longer than normal to fall asleep because she kept sitting up to turn it back on. Since then we’ve moved it to a dresser across the room but even so - she’ll lay and wait the 10 minutes for Bluey to turn off and then get us to come up and turn the light back on. I just wish it had a longer timer. All her other nightlights do.
Third - half the time when we set Bluey down to do the nightlight it doesn’t work. Like the switch doesn’t trigger from flashlight to nightlight. The flashlight just stays on only illuminating her feet. We have to keep trying the switch to see if it’ll light Bluey up. It happens intermittently but it’s pretty annoying.
So yeah, I wouldn’t recommend this as a nightlight. It’s really cute but not worth it.
Knocked off one star due to the battery cover being a bit tough to screw back on with batteries inserted. I'm also a little nervous of it popping off even after screwed on since it's a small cover.
