I love the Humans of NY and have followed Brandon for years. I was excited to get this book. The stories and pics are all amazing but the actual quality of the book is lacking. the pages are so thin and cheap they feel like they will rip. the cover is made from stock paper that shows every finger print. I was going to give it to someone as a gift but don't feel like the quality is right for gifting.

Been following Brandon Stanton via HONY (Humans of New York) since 2012, however this is my first book purchase from his publications, and I absolutely love it. I read a few stories each night before bed and they really help me feel connected and remind me of that collective human experience we share, no matter where in the world we’re from.
I look at the photos and read their words first, making sure not to peek at where the photo was taken until I finish! This way I’m always surprised by how familiar each story feels, no matter where in the world they are. That person could be my neighbour, my parent, my friend, my sibling, my co-worker... the stories always resonate. When I read, I am reminded that we are so much more alike than we are different - this is the point of this book and it showcases that beautifully.

Oh, and of course it’s not just the words that are powerful, the portraits are too, but with Brandon, that’s a given.

Buy this book for yourself, or gift it to someone else. You won’t regret it.

I was so excited to receive this a few days ago, and it hasn't disappointed! I haven't been able to read the whole thing yet. It's a book to dip in and out of rather than read in one go. I know it's going to keep me company throughout the winter. The stories I've read have already whetted my appetite. They provide a great insight into different viewpoints, which is so important right now.
