I was not used to fan-heaters commonly used in Australia as I've spent most of my life in a northern countries where we had a different types of heaters, often without fans or with really small fans to make slow air rotation but not blow away everything. I considered oil-filled heater as used before and some models are pretty nice actually, but in the end decided to get that Ionmax heater because heating element looked like what we used at home before moving to Australia, just rotated 90 degrees clockwise (not the best reason to buy for sure).
Anyway, it works fine. Heats as advertised but you should be aware that as with all other infrared heaters most heat is localised just before heating element (around 1m) and could be noticed immediately, cats appreciate it, radiated heat is radiated of course but is less noticeable and takes time to heat stuff around. Starts to heat in 10 seconds or so.
Haven't used it for heat level above 4 as there was no weather cold enough yet. Don't know about electricity bill as I've used it for less than month but don't expect huge bump. On level 1 it produces some noises like cracking, I guess heating/cooling cycle is to blame or something, on level 2 and above haven't heard any noises. That heater can swing, but I don't use this mode.
Would be nice to not have all this digital stuff like buttons and LED indicators, have huge mechanical tumbler instead as it would have less chance to malfunction with time, but overall pretty solid heater. I'm happy with it.
