Après la disparition soudaine du talentueux Jóhann Jóhannsson en 2018, Deutsche Grammophon a mis tout en ouvre pour continuer le travail resté en suspend du compositeur. Le célèbre label jaune est fier de présenter aujourd'hui un nouvel album du compositeur '12 Conversations with Thilo Heinzmann' dont les ouvres sont interprétées par l'ensemble Echo Collective avec qui il avait souvent collaboré.

Proche depuis plus de quatorze ans, Jóhannsson et le peintre berlinois Thilo Heinzmann avaient à cour d'explorer ensemble la question du processus créatif entre l'art pictural et la musique. Pendant plus de quatre ans, les deux amis ont dialogué autour de ce sujet pour donner vie ensuite à une ouvre pour quatuor à cordes de douze mouvements. Obsédé par la texture du son, le compositeur a su créer tout au long de sa vie une musique hypnotique et lyrique d'un raffinement exceptionnel. Fidèle à son ouvre, la finesse et la beauté d'Echo Collective révèle dans cet album ce qu'on pourrait appeler son 'son '.
