I tried a few different options for post mastectomy bras, and this one was by far the best. It runs very small. I was 34a Pre-surgery and had to size up to a large; plenty of compression in the large. May be able to get away with Medium longer term and for working out, but medium was too tight post surgery. Prefer this bra over the wayanou and fruit of the loom. I haven’t had any issues with the zipper, so that may be more of an issue if you have a larger bust.
I purchased a size Large to wear following breast reconstructive surgery for breast cancer. Before surgery I was a 36d and the doctor told me to bring a sports bra, that fit me currently, to my follow-up appointment. I am a runner so I had plenty of supportive sports bras to choose from. Unfortunately, all of my bras hurt both under my breast and atop them. I knew they would be reducing my breast size some due to the nature of the surgery and I also factored in swelling with this size selection. It fits nicely (I’m a 36 b/c cup now), provides full coverage, and is the softest and most comfortable of the bras I purchased. It offers support, but isn’t restrictive. It has removable pads. It sits nicely under my arm, not too close to where my lymph nodes were removed. I have been living in this bra 24/7 and plan to order another.
The bra works for what I need which is front fastening and protection of a medical port on my chest. I like the "hook and eye" feature which allows for the zipper to work easily after the hook is in place. The straps are not as easy to access as you put it on because of the stretchiness of the fabric, which holds everything closer together until it is put on. Reaching for the second strap stretches your arm backwards, which for my situation is somewhat uncomfortable. Once I have it on it is comfortable, has a smooth profile and is great for physical activity. The stretch of the straps provides protection for the medical port.
This bra would have been perfect if the zipper wasn't so low-quality and there were more hooks to hold it together. There is only one hook and it's right in the middle instead of at the top where it would make sense or all along the length of the zipper seam which would help hold everything together snugly. Because of this, the zipper doesn't stay closed very well. Mine zipper actually broke and started to part at the bottom when I wear it now. Super low quality.
Gives a lot of support. Love the front closure. Used it after breast reduction surgery. Found that it gave me more support which was too much in the first couple of weeks bit after that I loved it and it was my go to bra for any activity as it gave me enough support. Will continue to use post op
Most comfortable sports bra ever! The support is good (but I won’t be doing jumping jacks at the gym in ANY sports bra...) The slip in clip helps hold the front panels together while you zip it up - nice feature. A second one is on my wish list!
