This style is worn close to the skin. What I mean is, it’s like a swimsuit. When I took them out of the box, they looked like shirts for 5 year old children. But I had my kids try them on and they fit perfectly. My son is 13 and slender. The 14/16 fits well. My daughter is 9. The 10/12 fits well. The sleeves end above the wrist. At first I thought the sleeves were too short, but then I realized that is the style. Probably to keep the material off the hands entirely. Definitely surfer kid style. Basically, these are long sleeve bathing suit tops.

Purchased for my chubby toddler who is 18 months old, 26 pounds. Bought the 2T and it fit her perfectly. Yes, the sleeves are just a little long, but most other brands of rash guards and/or swim shirts have long sleeves too, so I think this is how they are designed. It is not a problem in real world situations as the sleeve is snug and does not typically slip past the wrist regardless, it just bunches up on the arm which is not an issue in my book, plus the long sleeve allows for freedom of movement while swimming, going down waterslides, etc. I read other reviews of dye dripping with the darker colors, so I went with light pink hoping to avoid that, and have had no issue of dye dripping in this color. And yes, she loves to put this shirt on and wear it, fully protecting her from the sun. Cheers.

Large but nice

If you intend for this to be a fitted shirt, definitely buy a size down if your young child is in the 50th percentile or less for size. The arm length, as others have noted, is comically long. Nothing wrong with rolling up the sleeves a bit. My daughter is 23 months and on the petite side, I think she's around the 30th percentile, and the Toddler 2T size is baggy and long, but still wearable. We got the neon red (almost watermelon pink) and yellow (which is fluorescent) shirts- no complaints about color. My daughter has worn each shirt one time, worked great for blocking the sun and she stayed a comfortable temperature even on a very hot day. Five star review because the product did exactly what I wanted: sun block and helped maintain a good temperature. I don't care that the size is baggy and large, maybe we'll get 2 seasons out of these.
