We ordered this item for my kid 2 years ago. It was perfect then.
This new one, is awful!!’ If I could give it a minus or zero rating, I definitely would. It’s practically see through and very stretchy after it gets wet! The fabric is cheap and flimsy and so terrible.
Do not buy this item unless you and your kid don’t mind being embarrassed.

Shirt came with mold all over it! Absolutely gross. Like many others have said, small specks get caught in the fabric so mold pieces are imbedded in the shirt. I would imagine sand would also get stuck. Shirt has discoloration as well. Terrible quality.

We used this on vacation, by the time we got home the logo had peeled off and the fabric thinned out only in certain places ... The coverage is now very patchy and I doubt that this will protect my kids from the sun anymore.

I am changing my review from a 5 to a 1 star. The color bleeds an incredible amount. I washed it in the washing machine on cold and gentle, and when I pulled it out, bright pink color was streaming off it. She fell asleep in it one day when it was dry, and her yellow floral sheets now have huge areas of pink. Some shirts in the laundry were ruined. My daughter competes in events where she wears rash guards, and no other brand of rash guard has done this excessive bleeding.

Bought the hot pink- have washed it 5 times and soaked over and over 10 plus times and TONS of pink dye is still coming out. Your child will be dyed the color of the shirt no matter how many times you rinse and wash it- so it’s going in the trash. Buy the iplay (shorter waist) or leveret brand (longer waist).

This was an awful purchase. The pink continues to bleed on everything after many many washes and the logo on the front peeled right off after her second time wearing it. Tried to get a refund but it was past the days allowed. It ruined a couple of items in the wash so I deeply regret the purchase. I hate it too because it fit my daughter great and was comfy for her to wear at the beach and pool and keep her protected.

Disintegrating after not much more than a month

We have four of these Kanu Surf rashguards (1 each for Mom, Dad, big sister and little brother) and three of them have been fine, but the one we bought for my daughter has almost completely disintegrated after having it for a little bit over a month (ie too late to return). All 4 have been used the same amount and at the same pools / beaches and washed on delicate per instructions after each use. For some reason the fabric in the one my daughter wears has gone from sturdy medium thickness to flimsy gauzy panty-hose like material. In fact, the material is so flimsy now that the weight of pool water absorbed by the fabric causes the shirt hem to sag down almost to her knees and the sleeves hang several inches past her hands like a straight jacket. This particular item seems like it must be defective. But the other three are basically fine. Amazon, please consider an exchange.

After a dozen trips to the pool this has completely lost its shape, the colors bled out and the stitching is starting to fail. My 3 year old wore this for swim lessons and a couple trips to our own community pool. Within a month it was fading and now after two months its almost useless. The sleeves are all stretched out and the colors are so faded it looks like a pale shade of pink. Total garbage quality.
