Very impressed by the light intensity. At the highest level, it goes up to about 5 metres (probably more - didn't measure). The different intensity levels would be useful in different contexts e.g. bushwalking in a treacherous forest, staying vigilant while walking home from train station (woman here, so yes, lots of worries in daily life). I love the glow-in-the-dark luminous condom-like cap cover. It makes so much sense! You'd want a torch when it's dark, but how do you find a torch in the dark? If you're going to use a phone, might as well use the phone all the way. But since this comes with a keyring, I'll just pop it on my bag so I actually have no use for that very useful cover.

Hubby is in aged care where he has to check on residents at night. This is a nifty piece that he can stash away in his pocket, then whip it out for some assuring level-1 light, not Treacherous Forest Mode.

Build feels solid, not like the Energizer Lego-like torch we got at Big W.

The Lumintop EDC01 torch is a noteworthy mini torch suitable for every day carry.

At only 66mm long, 14.5mm wide and 12g in weight, it is most suitable to carry on a key chain, backpack, in a purse or pocket. It functions very well when attached to a keyring or lanyard with the mini carabiner included in the packaging. The torch doesn't have any clip attached to the body, thus limiting its attachment to, say, a hat.

It is extremely light (12g) and made from aircraft grade aluminium, making it robust and able to withstand any 'accidental' drop test. It is waterproof to 2m (IPX8).

The flashlight feels excellent in the hand for a small flashlight.

The mini torch is turned on with a twisting action. There are three modes of light intensity but no strobe effect. While the lowest intensity mode (5 LM) is not generally as useful as others, it works well in tight spaces. The most powerful mode, reportedly, outputs a maximum 120 LM lumens and is adequate for general use.

Battery life is excellent and can run continuously for approximately 3 days on the lowest mode. Any standard AAA battery may be used in the flashlight.

As mentioned, a mini carabiner is included in the accessories along with a spare set of O-Rings. An excellent feature is the included diffuser which provides adequate light for most tasks, including reading, in a standard room.

The flashlight comes with a 5 year free repair warranty and an unconditional 30 day money back guarantee.

The Lumintop EDC01 is a well functioning mini flashlight for the keyring, backpack, purse or pocket. It is excellent value at a low price.

I have had various keyring torches, and the weakness is generally they use some button battery that doesn't last or hard to get. This uses a standard AAA battery, and basically you can't have a smaller or lighter AAA battery torch, I have mine on my car keys, and gets bashed around with no issues so far.

Excellent light for the size, much brighter than say my iPhone 7. Has three levels and lowest is good if you just want to read something. The brightest is plenty for looking for something or going over uneven ground in dark.

I liked mine so much that I have bought another six for presents.

Pros:
- very bright for the price and the size
- easy to carry
- nice aluminium build quality
- comes with a nice amount of accessories; the clip makes it easy to remove from your keys when needed
- battery life seems to be very reasonable (have yet to change the battery yet after 3 months)

Cons:
- The black coating is easily scratched off by your keys (just adds to the weathered look haha)

Things to note:
- it is a twist top as many key chain lights are, some may prefer a button on the side or at the tail end

Final thoughts:
Easy light to carry around and hence is always with you when you need it most. Has much more throw than your phone flashlight. Using an AAA battery, replacement batteries are easy to come by and are cheap. Whilst there may be brighter and smaller lights out there (usually rechargeable), they are often far more expensive.

I think this light is fantastic value for money. As such, I've bought a couple as gifts.

Switch is a “twist” action, you tighten screw top to turn on, you loosen it a bit to turn off.

You cycle through the 3 modes by rapidly twisting it ‘on’ and ‘off’ repeatedly. Torch remembers your last mode, and will turn on again in same mode.

Lowest mode is bright enough to check in someone’s mouth, or check pupil reflexes, and more than bright enough see your path well in darkness.

Package came with everything pictured. ‘Glow-in-dark’ diffuser cap is a nice touch. Even nicer is glow-in-dark “o-ring” at the front end of the torch, so you can still see where the torch is after turning it off. (The pictures I’ve attached is of the front of the torch in darkness, after brief use). The textured front-glass gives a nice even spread light without the central bright spot. Flat bottom, so can be sat upright as a candle (sits very stable).

Overall quality and value excellent for something that is about AUD$13.

The quality of this flashlight reminds me of a USA-made Maglite I bought decades ago: very simple and reliable construction, no buttons or switches (turns on/off with a twist), strong lightweight alloy body, and extremely practical. The difference is that Lumintop is much smaller and lighter with a single AA battery, brighter, has three modes, and lots cheaper. I own a few brighter flashlights but I use this one more often just because it's always there on the keychain and I can't leave house without it.
