The Classic Collection heavy duty kitchen scales feature a detachable ribbed stainless steel measuring pan, an easy to read metric and imperial dial and a sturdy cast iron base with small feet, that raise the scales from work surfaces and tables. Well-made traditional scales.

I use these to weigh out flour for bread-making. I like the fact the scale only goes up to 4kg and, having a big dial, you can be quite precise with the measurements. (Many other scales go up to higher weights but this means that commonly-used amounts hardly register a movement on the scales). Note that the scales are supplied with a bit of cardboard around the bowl mount that has to be removed and the top of the bowl mount is supplied only loosely screwed on (so you can remove the cardboard). So a screwdriver is needed to tighten the bowl mount before the scales are used.

The scales are fine and work perfectly. The reason some have had a problem is because there is a small piece of card tucked under the dish you need to remove. I had the same issue until I pushed hard on the dish and squashed the card. It was only then I noticed the card and removed it. Hope this helps someone.
