I think I'm done trying to buy clothing on Amazon. The items I receive are never what I expect based on the description. I bought these shorts because a pair of the same model purchased 3 years ago have been my favorite. I loved those shorts because the many cargo pockets were protected by buttons instead of Velcro and there was the most perfect cell phone pocket on the right side. The shorts I received now use Velcro on half of the pockets. The "perfect" cell phone pocket is gone and was replaced by one that is too small even for an iPhone 6. These Lee shorts went from perfect to just ordinary and are no longer worth the price.
Size was way off. Usually wear a 38, had to exchange it for a 40, which was even a bit tight. Main pockets. Awesome. Deep enough to keep stuff inside, which no one seems to make anymore. Cargo pockets. One perfect, one what the heck. The one side has two pockets. One so small nothing fits and below it is a short one that cell phones need to be place sideways to fit (and you have to reach way down to get to it. Dumb design.
Belt is the main problem with these shorts. They are comfortable, durable, and fit well but the accompanying belt leaves little to be desired. It’s difficult to buckle, curls between the belt loops, and difficult to remove. I would buy the shorts again but the belt is horrible. They need to make these with a built in liner and belt. Fashion them after water shorts.
Wished they had a dedicated phone pocket like some others. Love the look of the shorts, but with the pocket design, if you put your wallet on one side and your phone on the other, you'll get "floppy shorts". The other Lees shorts have the dedicated phone pocket which is amazing (even for my 8s Plus with a case. Otherwise great and comfortable shorts, but not my go to as the others with the better pocket design are....
Nice shorts, with the exception of 2 things which caused me to return them: there are 2 cargo pockets on each side; however on the left side the top of the 2 pockets is so shallow it really wouldn't hold much other than something small. Some people may like this small pocket for something like glasses or pens, but just my personal preference I wanted deeper pockets. And the biggest problem was that to close some of the pockets there was a button that I found very hard to open and close, especially if trying to open them with one hand. They probably loosen up after awhile, but I just had too hard a time with them and decided to return the shorts while I still could. Otherwise they fit nice.
I've been wearing 34 waist line for so long, I can't remember. I decided to order these in 33. When I got them the tag said 33. I put them on & they nearly fell down around my ankles.. SO, either these shorts run BIG OR I've lost much more weight than I was aware of. Since I'm not one for dealing with "returns" I decided I would just wash them in HOT water & Dry them on High Heat in the Dryer. That worked a bit in my favor as now I just have to cinch up the belt really tight. AS FOR the Length, the Color & the Feel of the shorts, I AM very Happy with,,,, I ONLY WISH that I had order the 32 waist
I have searched these pants by the numbers in previous owned pants. Seems after several years of use, washing, etc, my pants tore apart, the material thinned out. I got a lot of usage out of it. I ordered these pants, same exact size and color. comes a lot smaller, I love these pants, has all the pockets I need. I can were them tough they don't fit exact with a belt I provide. The belt provided is way too small. I might have gained weight, but ordered the same size as the last ones that fit and had used the belt with. The old pants were made in China the new pants of the same model, was made in Bangladesh. I might order again 2 sizes larger, ridiculous I know. Would make sense to keep sizes consistant.
These run big. I am a 36"-38" waist, depending on what I ate for supper. I bought the 38" pair. They were huge and I had to return them. I loved the pockets and they seemed decent quality though. Lee makes great jeans. I also don't care for shorts that hang down to my knees. Shorts rubbing against the back of my knees drives me nuts. I'm sorry guys, but we all look like idiots wearing long shorts. I further researched and found 6" inseam shorts. I wish a major manufacturer (like Lee) would produce a 6" inseam cargo shorts. They would amazed how many 40+ years olds would buy them.
The fit is about what I expected, maybe just a hair snug in the waist given that they are cargo shorts. (typically oversized) One of the "bonus" pockets on the left is only decorative. The flap opens, but it's only deep enough to store something like a tube of chapstick. Even then, it's likely to fall out due to being secured more by the flap than the depth of the "pocket". Other pockets are adequate and as deep as you'd expect. Strangely, though the corners of the pockets all have impressive-looking re-enforcement stitching, holes develop at these spots long before the rest of the shorts look worn.
My husband is normally a big fan of this brand. When I gave him the shorts I ordered and he put them on he made the remark that they “weren’t the same” “they are cheeper made” he was disappointed. So we are hoping they hold up like the pairs he already has.
