I hesitated to buy the regular length for fear of shrinkage so I read other reviews and the Q&A looking for helpful info. Whoever said they don’t shrink (and that was most of the reviews I read) must have bought some different pants because I washed them on cold, dried on extra low just once, and they are now “high waters. Inconveniently, I will be returning them.

Before washing, they were just barely the right length; I have a true 31” inseam. After washing, the inseam was 29.5” which is too short for my legs. I’m 5’6” tall, pear body type, weigh between 155-160 lbs, and I bought size 10.

Aside from the shrinking length, the fabric is light and soft and fit was good everywhere else. No back of the waist gap like those Gloria Vanderbilt jeans that also run short in the legs but additionally tight in the thighs (those pants are for short, thinner-thighed apples). I didn’t experience a lint problem as many others mentioned, but I ordered the parchment color, so light colored lint wouldn’t have been noticeable anyway. They did wrinkle a little but it’s not a dealbreaker.

I ordered another pair of these pants in size 10 long, hopefully they will work out better. If the shrinkage is a similar loss of 1.5” the result after washing should be an agreeable 31.5” inseam.

For now I’ll say-if you’re 5’4” or taller, and like your pants at an average length after washing and drying, go with the longer length. If you’re a little above average height and like walking through puddles, however, the regular length should suit you just fine.

Not worth it if your waist is smaller than your hips

I have always bought Lee jeans and slacks because they have always fit well in my waist. I have not been able to buy Lee jeans for several years now because they changed the cut on the waist; and only their black All Day pants still had that nice fit. I bought these khaki All Day pants thinking they would fit as well as the black ones.

WRONG.

I can fit my fist between the waistband and the small of my back! When I put on a belt, I am then forced to suffer with a wad of material trying to squash my kidneys. I have Sensory Processing Disorder, and having pants that do this throws me into sensory overload; I cannot function normally because it is a HUGE distraction and source of frustration for me. I can’t wear midrise (unless they’re higher than typical midrise) or lowrise for the same reason (and also because my employer prohibits them).

Lee doesn’t want to hear my feedback; they edited out most of a polite post on their Facebook page. They need to fire their designers, because changing the cut on their products is the absolute DUMBEST thing they’ve ever done. WOMEN’S WAISTS ARE NOT THE SAME WIDTH AS THEIR HIPS.

I won’t be buying their products again, unless they figure out that the new design is costing them lifelong customers. I’ll be trying other brands now, and hopefully I can find a company that still has a bit of common sense left... It’s a shame really, because these pants are made well and overall feel great. I just can’t do the HUGE waistline. And I can’t see, nor can I afford to hire a seamstress to take the waist in for me. So other brands it is.

Stiff, Lint Magnet, Not Stretchy

I bought these work pants as an alternative to my other Lee pants that I actually love but were out of stock and I needed a back-up pair that were long enough for my legs.

The material surprised me - a bit more rough and scratchy. Almost like heavier denim-type material. The material is actually quite stiff for me and not flexible enough for my job (I’m a server lifting and bending and carrying heavy trays of food). It’s also a BAD lint magnet. The material somehow seems to attract any hair/lint/dirt.

I bought these pants about a month or so ago and the belt loop already busted loose. I was really disappointed and expected a bit more strength.

Miscellaneous complaint: I hate the back pockets which are lined with a WHITE material. Who ever thought of that? I sit down and stand up again and somehow the white material shows. It looks unkept and it’s annoying to keep shoving my hands down in the pockets to keep the white lining from coming out.

The only pros:
• they are an okay pant for occasional use but not extended wear, and probably only for a person that minds carrying around a lint roller with them at all times.
• I also did enjoy the fact that they’re long enough for a tall person to wear (even though I could afford a few more inches on the legs - I’m 5’11).

Updated review: the other belt loop has busted off on the other side with minimal tugging. Really disappointed.

Not what I expected

I ordered an 18 short in three colors. First, they are not short - the length is identical to regular. Second, the ratio of waist measurement to thigh is unusual. I always have to alter b/c of my hip-to-waist ratio, but this waist is 8" too big, and the thighs way too tight, so I can't even wear them. Sad thing is (I guess I wasn't careful while ordering) - they're not returnable. By the time the thighs do fit, I'm not sure I can take enough out of the waist and have it be unnoticeable. This, times three - ugh.

Pants already had been altered with seam tape - not "new"

This is not a "new" product. It has already been "hemmed" by someone! I ordered a tall size on purpose, so when I held them up to me I was frustrated to note they didn't even hit my ankle. Then I noticed there was a huge pressed "hem" and I further found that someone had used hem tape to take up the length. These pants have already been altered!

In addition, there is clearly a fuzzy rectangle on the pant leg which remains after you first remove a sticker which usually tells the size.

I am in a bit of a quandry b/c its a hassle to do returns and reorder and wait for pants when maybe I could wash away the hem tape & pants will be fine. Maybe.....

Not Very Flattering

Although the size I received was the correct length and fit around the hip, it was just not flattering at all. The material is a bit thick and coarse for my tastes and it wasn’t very form fitting.

To be fair, as work pants they would work just fine. They’re not uncomfortable necessarily and look okay, but if you’re looking for genuinely nice flattering pants then I wouldn’t recommend these.

I have been wearing Lee pants and jeans for years now. It seems they always have to change up their sizing, even when you buy the same product. I purchased two sizes, knowing that I could return the one that didn't fit. Unfortunately, I have to return both. One was too big, the other too small. If they fit well in the waist, they were too tight in the hips. If they fit in the hips, the waist was so big that they would constantly need pulling up. If you are a curvy fit, these probably won't work for you. The material was clingy, and right out of the package they had a lot of fuzz on them. They seem to attract everything - and being that they were black, that's just not going to work. I think that they were well made, and overall nice in appearance, but the fit just didn't work for me.

the pants are wonderful and well built, but even a long is too short. if you're 5'10" and up, look elsewhere, DO NOT GET THESE. theyre about 2 inches too short. im a 6 long, hovering around 6' even, and these just didnt cut it. theres not enough of a hem to alter them either. for my tall girls. look at Tapata, they have 34" inseams!
