This item was much larger than the size description. It seemed quite good in terms of quality but had to return it and chose not to reorder a smaller size since I was unsure of the sizing chart description.
Yes! As all others have said these jeans do run large but in fairness these jeans are made for the curvy girl who is small in the waist with hips and rounded rear ends. But I am 5'9 with a flat rear and thick thighs so I normally wear a size 12/14 and skinny jeans turn into muffin top jeans on me. I needed a straight leg jean with a little higher waist that didn't look like mom jeans. After reading the reviews I chose a size 12 but Way too big is an understatement. What I loved was how dark the black jeans are and not that awful greyish black that has become popular. I returned them easily and the exchange arrived quickly within 3 days of me mailing back the return. Now I love the size 10 and while an 8 may fit tighter in the rear, the 10 fits my hips well without squeezing them (giving an hourglass shape) and the waist is comfortable enough that even if they draw up after washing I will be able to zip them up. With a belt I can pull them up higher to hide my lack of "booty" with out losing the length. The length is perfect for sneakers or heals. I do not have that totum pole leg look as the jeans hug my thighs just above the knees then loosens to make my thighs look slimmer. Then at the knee it sort of gathers so it is straight but not straight as a "pole". This is that classic jean that I was looking for and I am extremely happy to find them. So happy that I ordered a pair in Horizon for my daughter since she is curvy both in hips and rear so she should fill these jeans out well while having a more slimming look. If these do not draw up in the wash then I will try Horizon in an 8 and see if those will be too small since I am in a middle size I may be better off not going down another size. Still overall these are excellent, sturdy, true to color, year round jeans and once you find your size you will want a pair in every color.
These jeans were supposed to be straight leg jeans and they are more like boot cut or flare leg jeans...ALSO, I noticed a horrible acidic/sour odor in the jeans and knew that they would require laundering before I was able to wear them. Another idea that I had was this: I thought that once I launder them, they would shrink a bit so that they wouldn't be so long (for a medium length, I had to cuff them) and it turned out that they did shrink so that they were not too long. However, the wide, non-tapering leg will force me to have to taper them myself with my own sewing skills. TOO bad that I laundered them...I should have returned them immediately for a refund. UGH!
It's been many years since I found a pair of women's pants that fit. I usually buy men's jeans as I have no butt or hip width to write home about, and most women's pants are far to narrow in the waist. Then add menopause and the ensuing fluff that gathers around the middle where I never had fluff before -- YIKES -- WTH IS THIS?? So when I saw a reviewer complain that the waist is too wide I thought I'd give these pants a try. The waist is high enough and just the right size to keep my britches up securely but NOT cause muffin top. Very comfortable.
Returning this order that my wife ordered. She said she has worn the same style, color and size for several years. In fact, she is wearing a pair of them now. However, this recent order has a different fabric texture. It is more like a rough jeans texture and not a smoother cotton blend as the others. As mentioned, it's the same jeans, but lately it seems the fabric quality is rougher and not the same. She's always given them a 5 star in the past, but can only score a 3 star this time, because she doesn't want to quit ordering Lee Jeans, but expects multiple orders of the same style and size to be the same in fabric texture.
These are my absolute favorite jeans! I first tried these on at Goodwill, and they fit perfectly in every way--most jeans are too tight in the legs and too loose in the waist, making them slowly pull downwards as I walk. These are nice and form-fitting, but loose enough in the thighs that I can walk, and tight enough on my waist that they stay on.
It does pinch a little when I'm sitting curled up, but what jeans aren't? If I wanted to sit curled up then I'm gonna wear yoga pants. They do go up pretty high--almost to the belly button! So it's very nice if you're self-conscious about the little bit of jigglies in the belly like I am (just a little).
You can imagine my dismay when they wore out in 3 months! I guess that's what happens when you buy used clothes. Now that I know which jeans I like, I've decided to buy these jeans new every time. Thank you to Amazon and the person who wrote the listing for letting me look these up by model number, to make absolutely sure they were the same ones!
This is one of the best pair of jeans I have ordered. It fits as expected, is high rise so I don't have to tug it up anymore and is a nice ankle length. It says to wash it cold, inside out and I did that and dried it on delicate and it did not shrink at all. The high rise really is a high rise--not old fashioned but just sitting at the waist. The material is a real jeans material, not so stiff it makes you feel like a wrangler, but not soft and stretchy either. The ankle length is not too tapered, does not qualify as a skinny, but it isn't wide either. I wear it with ballet flats but would be fine with heels. By the way, I am a ten and I bought a ten--just the right fit. Good price too. I certainly have paid more with considerably less satisfaction. Hope this helps.
This style Lee (Instantly slims, relaxed straight leg) jean has been my go-to jean. I wear a size 10 and have ordered a few pairs every year- 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. I have always loved them because they fit me so perfectly...until now (May 11,2021). This size 10 in Black is now cut about 2 sizes smaller. No, I didn't gain weight, I still have most of my other jeans in this Lee style and they still fit perfectly. Very disappointing. I'm sending them back. Oh yes, I almost forget to add - they have a terrible chemical smell (my other ones didn't).
