I wear an 8 in most pants, a six in others. I have a pair of Lee relaxed fit straight leg jeans that I bought last fall. If anything, the pair that I have is slightly big and too relaxed. This pair, in the exact same size , 8L was too short (no way is this a 33” length) and I could barely button them. What’s more, I would characterize the rise as too low, about 2” below navel, perfect spot for muffin top enhancement. If there is spandex in this Jean, it’s not apparent to me. Awful.
I bought two pair, one was light and one dark. The dark pair is fine. The light pair smells very bad. It smells like horible musty chemicals. I washed them 5 times and they still smell. Since there were a light color, I thought I would soak them in a dilution with bleach. I soaked them for 2 days. They did become more light colored, which I am fine with. Then I washed them 3 more times to get the bleach smell out. So I wore them to work today. They don’t smell like bleach anymore but smell like that horrible chemical. When I sit at my desk at work, I can’t stand the smell.
5'7" 135lbs, size 10 was a perfect fit and perfect length, made me so happy. But the chemical smell was HORRIBLE!! Washed and dried - still smelled bad. Hung outside in the sunshine 9am to 5pm - still smelled bad. Soaked overnight 7pm to 9am in the washer with 1 pound of baking soda and 2 scoops of oxy, then washed and dried - STILL SMELLED BAD!!! Gave up - sending them back. So disappointed. Dare not try another of the same, even tho the fit was wonderful for me. Very Sad :(
I can’t get this damn chemical smell out of these jeans. I haven’t even had a chance to try them on. I just want the smell out! This is my 5th time pouring detergent all over them and washing with a second rinse and drying and the smell still won’t escape. I never believed a review that complained of a chemical smell bc I’ve just never smelt it on any of my clothes I’ve ordered, but now I finally understand what everyone is talking about. This smell is horrible, I can’t even put the jeans on.
The color of these jeans is as pictured. The denim material is heavier weight than other darker versions that are offered. This pair was manufactured in Egypt verses the dark color I previously ordered which was made in Mexico.
The issue with this pair of jeans is the horrible odor! The smell was that of an old musty damp trunk which I assumed would dissipate after washing, however it did not! I’ve washed these about 10 times, used various odor remover products, allowed them to air dry in the sun and the odor is as strong as the day I opened the package. I can not store them amongst other fabric/clothing as the smell permeates the surrounding fabric/clothing. I should have returned them immediately......my mistake thinking after a few washings the smell would go away!
I would recommend the jeans for look and fit, however only wear if you want to smell like you slept in a damp musty old travel trunk!
I have worn Lee pants for many years, and they always fit perfectly, but have just finished trying every single style in my usual size - and every style is very tight in the calf! Fits perfectly other than that, but I am also surprised that they have gone to "mid rise" in almost all styles, which is a shame. I like "at the waist". Sadly, good-bye Lee.
I have worn Lee jeans forever but always bought locally and could feel the material. But don't buy this pair. I washed inside out and hung to dry and I have a hole and discoloration right above the knee. This was after first washing. Nothing was on them when I put into washer by itself. Now I can no longer wear as just a bit too old for the torn jean look and the discloration is awful. Also discoloration on other leg but no hole. What a waste of $. I will just buy locally from now on and make sure the material is what Lee jeans are known for and not that thin material that you can't wash if you don't want discoloration and tears. Never again will I make this mistake. They did feel good on and made me look sleek but so do my other real Lee jeans purchased locally. Been shopping on internet for a while now but no longer when it will come to clothing if that's what you get. Trash. Can't even donate.
