Use Downy Wrinkle Releaser Spray to straighten!!!

The game changer for me was to use Downy Wrinkle Releaser spray to straighten the strands of macrame. Due to the way it has to be packaged and shipped to you, any macrame you order online is going to arrive looking all curly/kinky (aka not how the pictures look when you bought it). Once you’ve unpackaged your macrame, find a flat or fairly flat surface to lay it out on - use a surface you don’t mind getting slightly damp or having Downy Wrinkle Releaser spray get on it. I just used my bed. Basically you’re just going to spray a section of strands with Downy Wrinkle Releaser (just spray a few strands at a time or else it will dry before you get to it) and going strand by strand straighten out with your fingers by pulling, tugging, and running it through your fingers. The main fingers you’ll use are your thumb and pointer. Make sure you hold the base of the string where it’s knotted as you are pulling, tugging and smoothing. Be sure to keep the strands you’ve already done straight as you move on to the rest. When done with all the strands I made sure it was all smooth and pulled tight and straight and let it lay flat on my bed (or whatever surface you use) for a couple of hours to make sure it was dry before hanging.

Really loved this product. We ended up going with a boho theme for our little girls nursery, and honestly these couldn’t have tied it in any better. They aren’t very heavy so just a simple hook screw holds them up. Very good quality of work, I’m personally a macrame fanatic. I do most of my own work but with the time crunch of having a baby soon I needed to have something quick to make life easier in the next couple of weeks. I always check every product alike for what I’m searching for and these for the price really stood out to me. Seriously love them so much and how they tie the room together.

Overall, I like this product. The sizing and style are exactly what I expected. However, it is a little more wrinkly and less full than the pictures led me to believe they would turn out. I bet you could probably steam the ends to get a straighter look, but it really doesn't bother me. They do seem very durable and I plan to have them for a very long time. I've only hung one so far and I like the way it looks! You can see it next to my large painting for reference. I like that it's cream and not very intricate so it doesn't make the room look any busier than it already is- a perk that I was not expecting, but really appreciate. Overall, great product and size for what you pay!
