Product description

Style Name:#10 Can

Mountain House Beef Stroganoff is hands down one of the most popular meals we make. Made with real pieces of tender beef and savory mushrooms and onions in a creamy sauce and no artificial or colors, one bite will make you a believer. Perfect for those times when the power goes out, or the kids bring the soccer team home for dinner, with Mountain House #10 cans, you can feed a group in minutes. Mountain House meals are freeze-dried to lock in nutrients and flavor. We take the water out, you add it back in. Mountain House #10 cans are backed by a 30-Year Taste making them a perfect addition to any emergency food supply.

From the manufacturer

Our Story

At Mountain House, we trace our roots to meals we made for the United States Special Forces.

During the Vietnam Conflict, the military put out a request for food that tasted better, lasted longer and weighed less than old K and C rations. Our parent Company, Oregon Freeze Dry, responded to that request and won the contract. We immediately started making freeze dried food as Long Range Patrol rations for the military. We've continued making food for the United States Special Forces and other branches of the military ever since.

As the war began to wind down, we took our surplus rations to military surplus and sporting goods stores. It was then in 1969 that we realized the great for good tasting, easy to prepare freeze dried food and Mountain House was born.

1.0 out of 5 stars Contaminated with bugs!
Reviewed in the United States on 2 July 2021
So I purchased this to test it out for a camping trip with my son. I wanted too make sure he would eat the food we brought. After a few bites, he noticed a bug in the food. I didn't believe him at first. Then when I looked at it, indeed it was a bug. If it was just one, I would have chalked it off as a stray, but the food was FULL of bugs. Worst of all, when I contacted the company, they were blaming Amazon. Wut? How can bugs get into a sealed bag? They don't care, I guess, about the quality of their food they produce. Thanks goodness I tried the food before the taking it camping. We either would not have noticed or gone hungry for that meal. I will NEVER buy their crap again.
