I really like these rods, they fit my black door sidelights perfectly and don't stand out. I picked a heavier blackout drape instead of a sheer and they hold it perfectly; no slipping. Very good purchase.

Very poor magnetic hold on vertical surfaces.

I purchased these to hold a very light sheer curtain on my metal door. The vertical magnetic hold is very weak so you cannot touch the curtain or it will fall off. It does stay on the door as long as you don’t slam it too hard but the vertical strength is very disappointing. No way that it work as a towel rack because of the weak hold on a vertical surface. Would not buy again.

For our needs, these rods are perfect! We had new windows installed in our double doors and our old magnetic rods that were used for a valance were dried out from age so they needed to be replaced. The telescoping ends fit well into the end caps which are designed to fit the outside rod (larger diameter) and the inside rod. Installation was a piece of cake. Other folks reported that the magnets were not strong and simply bumping or opening the door would cause the rods to fall off - this is definitely not an issue I encountered, they are very sturdy when used to the design/advertised length. I can’t speak to the performance when hanging a heavier weight drape or using one rod on top and bottom for one door as I don’t see the design as being meant for those situations. Great value for simple projects!

Stupid thing keeps falling off the door

I've tried every option with this thing that I can think of with the curtain I bought for the back door. It is CONSTANTLY falling off when people use the door. The make is decent, and the magnets appear pretty strong, but when tested, there they go.
I tried to put up with it. And, like I said, I tried to do something a little different each time I put it back, but it always fails. We recently had a get-together for July Fourth and a few hours in, my husband gave up, removed it and threw it on the dining room table. I'm pretty disappointed and now it's outside my return window.
